Okay, I've had a new computer for ages. I posted up the specs in the PC Specs thread about a month and a half ago! Couldn't find the thread though... Basically I need a monitor, keyboard and mouse to go with the tower. I've never got round to getting them but I think I should now since the computer has just been sitting in my room collecting dust for the past 2months.
What I would like for you lot to tell me is if i'm a noob and chosen rubbish hardware or if what I've chosen is okay for me to go and get.

Monitor

Keyboard & Mouse

I also need a pair of plugs for use with my PS3. Will these do or are there better ones out there?

All look good mate, but do you only want 85mb powerlines or would 200mb be better?

Whats your budget for everything?

At least somebody replied lol.
Safe odb how you doing man?

Budget is £300. Would 200mbs really be worth the extra amount, if yea then i'll get them but they're quite a bit more?

Do you really need wireless keyboard and mouse, the ones ive had have all ended up being given away, they eat batteries like theres no tomorrow I was having to replace them almost weekly! For the same money there are far superior wired boards and mice, will you be gaming on it? a lot of gamers say the wireless setups are slower to respond and be the difference between winning and losing.

Edit: just noticed the mouse is rechargeable so not too bad as for me a mouse gets more use and uses batteries faster than the keyboard would!

If it was up to me then I wouldn't get a wireless keyboard or mouse. Family really want one for some reason, and they wanted a 22" monitor. I said no 22" is too big but i had to give in for the wireless keyboard and mouse.

What about the the screen and plugs harlzter, are they alright or should I go for 200mps plugs instead?

don't want 22". Personally I would say it's waaaaaayyy to big.
lol, fingerprint one looks cool but i've only ever heard bad things about microsoft keyboards and mice (mice or mouses )

Thanks anyway. Rep given

Seems monitor, keyboard and mouse are alright.
What about the plugs, any ideas anyone?

No expert on the plugs but it seems the 200mbps (AV) plugs are using a new standard altogether that carries compatability between different brands, so by paying extra now if its within budget you are to a degree future proofing the setup for a while, it will allow for easier upgrades to your system, by which time prices of extra homeplugs will have fallen again no doubt!

:?
Dear me...bit harsh

I've got the 200mbps ones and they are cracking but dont know how much difference between the 2 to be honest.

As for the keyboard mate, I have always used Logitech and found them good, but had a problem with the keyboard last time and was straped at the time so went to Ebay for a temp one and got a cracking one with loads more features than the Logitech with cradle etc and its really good, was about £18 delivered....never bothered getting a new one in the end

Any other features you want on the monitor? Just thinking the £195 Samsung is cracking and can be used for other stuff as well as a back up for for extras, but depends how much you want to pay

doesn't the ps3 only have a 100Mb adapter ? and the router probably will have as well seems like a waste of an extra £40 if so, just get the 85mbs ones pretty certain they will do ya fine
Good advice about the wireless kit, don't spend too much or when you get sick of buying batteries or them dying just when u need the pc it will be money thrown away!

Bump :whistling:

Will probably order later today or tomorrow, unless anybody has a reason why I shouldn't?
