Afternoon all

I ordered a set of these last night for £127 and would like to know if anyone owns them and if they're any good?

I have tried out a pair of the next ones up (Studios I think they're called) and was blown away by them. Do the Solos produce the same great sound?

Thanks in advance.

Some friends of mine have the solos and swear by them. It helps if whatever you plug them into has enough power to power the headphones properly though.

Thanks for replying.
Do you have any examples of what would suffice for power?
Would an iPod shuffle and iPod touch be ok?

I own a pair. They are great. Are fine with my iPhone, laptop and everything in between. Sound good. Not quite as good as Studio's obviously, but very good nonetheless.

dont get them i orded solo s and the studio , they are crap , solo s dont have the base as they are smaller and they leak noise , and had the studio which i paid £289 for 1 day and then took them back to apple for a refund , they leak 80 % noise so what ever you are listening to the hole room or bus or train are listening to your music , they refunded me straight away and told me they get alot of them returned so i went on to youtube and watched alot of reviews and they all said the noise leakage was its down fall ,i have a reall good pair of denons AH-D 1100 which i got for 70 quid from hmv from this site should of been 140 , they are far better

Pretty sure you could get the same quality cheaper, you're paying for the brand. The sound will be great but same place headphones from sennheiser/sony will be better I would think.

they a pumped full of Steroids and way too big... no wait thats just Dr Dre

I own them, total rubbish as said before. Would happily pay £40 for them

Overpowering bass, they aren't bad headphones if you don't mind that though, although they are vastly overpriced and you can get better headphones for cheaper.

He has some good business acumen does that Dre, I'll give him that.

Haven't used any apart from a quick go in HMV but the impression I get is that they're average 'high end' headphones but are priced as though they're top of the range. In short, they're overpriced.

When I first heard of them I thought, amusingly, they'd be made by Bose.

The reality is they're made by Monster which is even more obvious when you think of it...

PS yes I didn't get the Monster reference in their name, bit slow I am.

I thought they were bose due to the fact bose make overpriced junk too. Monster are just as apt though.

Surely you should have asked this before you bought it ? lol

Very overpriced for what they are, you can get much better for that money. Cancel or send them back and look at Grado, Audio Technica, AKG, and Sennheiser. Personally I love Grado, although mine leak like colanders they sound amazing.

Like I said in my original post, I have tried the Studios out and thought they were incredible, so I would assume the Solos are almost as good, and to be honest, I haven't seen any headphones that look better than Monster Beats.
And I'm aware that you can probably get better headphones for sound quality for that price but I can guarantee you that you won't get a better looking set of cans, and I don't want to be walking around listening to my music looking like a complete numpty.

So yeah, essentially I'm paying the extra so I don't look like a plank. Each to their own though :)

Odd how you guarantee something subjective. You must be god. Personally, I think there are quite a lot of better looking headphones, which also often have the attraction of sounding better, giving better value for money and not being as big a theft target.

There are also, undoubtedly, some that look worse (I'm looking at you Mr.Grado) but its quite a lot of money to spend on a fashion accessory in my book.

Fair enough. Like I said, each to their own.

I think In the end, it all boils down to personal opinion and that's perfectly fine.
I just wanted to know if anyone had a set and what they are like, that's all :)

Wearing Beats you are going to look a complete tool to anyone who's not a wannabe gangsta rapper and a potential mugging target to the sort of folks that admire them (_;)X)

Look wise no nothing can match them , but a lot kids have beats these days , so there goes that.

The bose cans dont look too bad.

personl preference t the end of the dy fore both style nd sound qulity

ll depends what music and where you listen to it. plus what kind of sound your ears prefer and thats not getting into the aesthetics.

personally im using p5's at the moment, my main gripe is the cord is a bit thin and flimsy for the price......just gotta be a bit careful when out and about.
