Hi all,

My Gilera DNA 50 is really annoying me now! When I go over 40 mph on it, it often cuts out

I have cleaned the carb, had it up jetted, had a new fuel pump and it still cuts out! It happens 8 times out of 10 when i go over 40. What happens is i can feel it going to die so i either keep it twisted back or i release the throttle. either way it dies or it dies then comes back to life then dies again etc. I have broken down about 15 times since i had it and its doing my nut in as i normally have to wait about 5 mins before it start up again!

I was thinking that it might need up jetting again?

anyone got any hints/tips

Thanks

legally yes. But mince came de-restricted and 30mph is too dangerous for modern roads IMO!

Around here all the roads are 60 -70mph so I would say its pretty dangerous for anyone going 30.

Obv this prob doesnt apply to sam as i dont think he lives in milton keynes :whistling:

Yeah it is, but you asked why would someone need to go faster. :whistling:

lol.

People are legally only allowed to do 70 on the motorway but you will see most people go faster

when you're on a single/dual carriage way, my instructor keeps shouting FASTER.

I'm like 'Uhm, i'm at 25, this is fine'..

As the roads to work and college are 50/60 mph. I tried going 30mph one to see what it felt like...well i was nearly knocked off my bike and people where right up my a*se...not for me thank you. So 40 is bad enough but is slightly better. I want to go 45-50 as it makes me feel safer.. anyway this isnt what his thread is about...its about helpful people suggesting whats wromng with it!

er. That would be me. But, what i am saying is i dont care if people quote me and use what ive said. When you post on a public forum you post to everyone.

I dont have a problem with you, although if i saw you i probably would have a problem with your driving :p. When people plan their journeys they usually dont factor in someone going 25mph in a 60 slowing everyone down.

Best thing to find is a dedicated moped forum. Even as a n00b they are usually helpful

Basically you are doing things to the bike it wasnt designed for, its designed for a uk spec and the parts are tailor made for the uk version, no offence but you can expect problems by altering one or two parts without having the whole mechanics/electronics overhauled to cope.
