Our Virgin Phone prices are changing

We’re writing to let you know about some price increases to your Virgin Phone service.

The first change is about line rental. From 1st August 2011 you’ll pay £13.90 a month for your Virgin Phone line. But don’t forget, unlimited calls to UK landlines and Virgin Mobile phones are still included at no extra cost as part of the inclusive calls in your call package, so you can continue to catch up without watching the clock. To find out how the inclusive calls in your call package work, scroll to the bottom of this email.

The second change we need to let you know about is to do with our 12.24p call connection fee. This only applies to calls made outside of your current call package. From 1st August, this will increase to 13.24p.

Free 0870 calls.
If you make lots of calls to numbers beginning 0870, you’ll know they can quickly bump up your phone bill. So to cut your costs, we’ve now made these free, as part of your call package. So from 1st August, calls to banks, businesses and helplines that begin 0870 won’t cost you a penny when you make them during the inclusive period in your call package.

More chatting, less clock watching.
Of course, this is just one of the ways we’re helping you save money. With us, evening home phone calls start at 6pm. With all other major phone providers, they start at 7pm. This means if you’re a Talk Evening & Weekends customer, your cheaper evening calls start an hour earlier than your friends on BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Plusnet.

All in all, we’re working to make sure your Virgin Phone service is the best it can be. If you have any questions about the changes, or if there’s anything else we can help you with, just give our team a call on 0800 052 2190.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Davidson
Executive Director, Customer Care

They have probably only put 0870 in as more companies are moving to 0871

Plus they should be cutting the call connection fee to mobiles not raising following the ofcom ruling earlier this year.

The wages aren't rising and every thing else is creeping up. First the dood bills then the vat then fuel, electricity and now the phone bills. They forget it's the people that keep them on business and they are doing everything possible to get the people under. Sure the power of people can put a stop to these creeping prices. As jase.2 said they are just doing it cos businesses are moving to 0871. If virgin media cared so much to save u's money why did they not do this at the same time as BT & why not 0845 too. Also there is the 'saynoto0870.com' to avoid these charges. We the people need to put a stop to these creeping prices.
