Striking Wednesday and Saturday here............sympathy has now gone. Sack them all and bring in people who will do the job.

EDIT : Sorry Muffin Man but I like most of the population have probably had enough now.
#2
What a joke!, As if the floods aren't bad enough for people. :x
#3
they're just making more work for themselfs once they start back all the backlog....i understand why they do it but if they really are not happy, why do the job in the first place, most of them are theiving Barstools anyway lol
#4
i think the plan is, different departments strike for different shifts, causing more prolonged disruption to services
#5
All they are doing is damaging further a seriously weakened company.
Bring on TNT final mile deliveries I say:

would you like to provide evidence to justify that comment accusing the majority of postal workers of being thieves or withdraw it?

No post in my area today !!

"[SIZE=2]Royal Mail has admitted that more than 14 million letters and parcels were lost, stolen, damaged or tampered with last year."

Theres obviously quite a few!

lol theres plety evidence of postal workers being theives...was in paper..on documentary...etc etc.....
#10
thanks sam......there is plety evidence specially when it comes from the hourses mouth.,....you must be a postman or know someone boothy, or maybe just never watch the news or read papers?
#11

You read about postmen daily nicking stuff. My old mate who used to be a postie used to deliver all the Britannia Music packages a couple of days late so he could take them home and copy them 1st.

I'm having to get any important mail sent special to my house as alot of mail has gone missing. I proved this point by mailing 3 jiffy bags full of shredded newspaper from the same postbox within my postcode over a week ago (just to prove to myself there is a problem, I'm still waiting for 2 of them to turn up.
So if my understanding of how royal mail works, post box-sortingoffice-postman is correct, this proves theres a thief/unexplained vortex to another dimension in my local royal mail sorting office.

I have no sympathy at all for postmen, take up all the CWU's time.
#13
Full of keyboard warriors in this thread..would you be so aggressive accsuing people of theft face to face I wonder
#14
I told my postman at xmas why he never got a tip, too much mail going missing.
#15
LOL.... so you accused him of stealing it then?
#16
boothy whats ur problem? its been proven, get over it. if i found my postman stealing my mail id knee him in his ghoolies...thankfully my postman is a top guy...i think the theiving is in the sorting offices as that documentary showed....
#17
I'll post him his tip this year, see if he gets it. Well someone in the royal mail will
#18
we pay for a service, we expect our mail to reach us/our destination. We have every right to be P!ssed at royal mail. it has nothing to do with hiding behind a keyboard id say it to anyone working for royal mail
#19
no problem and nothing to get over but the thing that annoys me a bit is that people come on here and make sweeping accusations accusing thousands upon thousands of postal workers of being thieves, obviously there is a problem and theft does happen to some degree but not to the extent that you implied, if people are that fed and hate royal mail that much dont use them.....there are alternatives... just my humble opinion you are of course entitled to yours ......and no I dont work for them

goodnight

Well as I say in my previous threads I so far this year have had "stolen" or gone missing in post

2 graphics cards worth £85 each, a £50 postal order, a PS2 game, a XBOX360 game, a bank card which was USED, a £10 note from my grandad, 3 cheques a gamecube game and adaptor, a hard drive.

And I live in a main town 100 metres from the local sorting office and main post office!
#21
ryouga, maybe they evaporated.......along with 4 xbox 360 games of mine a £20 postal order, a graphix card. £20 out of a card (still got my card tho) funny that...and loads of other stuff....

and a load goes missing when i post too...

i recieve a lot of things also..but i dont think anything should be going missing nevermind 100's of things
#22
Seems to be a pattern emerging.
#23
Bring in the poles..........
#24
Oh poo, not again :(
banned#25
its a joke
#26
Must say that in sending over 200 items through ebay over the last year I have not had one go missing. Think that most of the problem is people saying that things go missing in order to get money back!
[mod]#27
Well after talking to my sorting office this morning, they are having half day strike tomorrow....whole day on saturday...and then again on Tuesday. And then they had the cheek to moan they weren't getting paid for striking.
#28
yes theres one this saturday and then not the next tuesday but the week after tuesday. my mate told me as he works there.
#29
i think half the problem may be that ppl 'say' their items have gone missing when they havent, but it has actually been proven that royal mail staff steal or tamper with mail. usually its the same areas, so a whole area will be fine and one area has things missing all the time.....i may have been wrong to say the majority of royal mail staff, but in certain areas it may be the majority, and that is what i meant.
#30
Like my area, the postie doesn't even bother to ring the buzzer justs puts cards through the door claiming they arrived at 8am, yet the card isn't put through the door at 10am or later.

Its only been since a new very young postie started too(looks about 18 and hes friends with the junkies downstairs) at my old flat 10 minutes down road I had a nice postie who used to stop me in street and tell me if he had a parcel for me he knew me by name.
#31
the postman in my area does not even deserve more money.these people are on stike probably for not enough pay but my postman can't even get here on time.
#32
I hate these stikes, I wish they would just get people in who are willing to do the job.
#33
**** i need to send a letter that WILL arrive next week.... what service do you recommend?
