I have seen more and more people sharing the Thanks Tesco I've just claimed my free £200 gift card post on facebook lately and now the horrible scammers are adding Sainsburys and M&S to the list too. It is all a big scam to get you all to share your personal information in the hope of a voucher but in reality they are taking and using your information to try their hardest to commit ID fraud on you.

Genuine competitions will NEVER ask for personal or sensative information off you. The site you are redirected to will look genuine with official logos and slogans and the same text fonts etc but who can't lift an image off google and make it look real? Never give your home address or mobile number out for a voucher comp because real competitions would just ask for your email address and the worse you will get is spam emails but if you give your mobile number out, the reality is you will get hit by ££ premium number texts.

I expect we will see more and more of these as we get nearer to Christmas and budgets get stretched and people look for ways to get extra cash.As the old saying goes - if it looks to good it usually is - just a heads up to be aware and share this rather than the voucher site with your friends and family.

Think everyone is too cautious . I for one am in conversation with a nice Nigerian lawyer with regards to a multi million pound fortune left to me by a relative I never knew I had . Granted his £50000 fee is on the high side ,so I have sent him half just in case it's a scam .

Don't know what's worse, the scam or the idiots on Facebook who share it as they're too dumb to realise it's a scam.

Wow snap I had a Nigerian uncle too I didn't know about! It was a nice tidy 10 million he saw he would get me. I gave him my bank details just waiting for the transfer now. The lawyer seemed awfully nice bloke and just wanted me to have what was rightfully mine.

His original post is two above mine. You can clearly see he calls people on facebook who spread the scam idiots. I have corrected his statement to imply all people on Facebook are idiots and not just those who spread the scam.

bzzzt, you changed it to your opinion which is wrong
to 'correct' it you needed to change it and be correct
you are therefore below the level of a facebook user - tee hee

best one i had was from a nigerian business man who said that he had found a treasure chest full of gold at the bottom of the ocean and would share the spoils if i invested £2,000 towards the cost of bringing it up from the ocean depths. he claims it was a business opportunity of a lifetime.

i said that i would transfer the £2,000 requested to his bank if he promise to keep the gold and just give me the trunk. i was an avid collector of sunken treasure trunks and had no use for the gold. oddly enough he never replied.
