For under 25s it's free from pharmacies but if you're over 25 it's £20! How can that be justified???

Still age discrimination mate. Accidents can happen to anyone.
#3
25? should be lower than that, most people over the age of 18 should have enough common sense to not require a morning after pill.
#4
did not know that. I used to work in a pharmacy and we just gave it to anyone that fitted the PCT regs, including folk over 25. Must have changed.
#5
it should be available to everyone for free, its not fair to have to pay for it just becuase your over 25

Some Dr's get ****** off if writing scripts for it, they see is as waste of their time. Usually best to see the nurse.

It means people under 25 are expected to be irresponsible......Brilliant Britain!

It is free for everyone, older people just have to go to the dr's of clinic for it.

i know was a private dig at byker from his tax thread the other day
#16
It shouldnt be free at all.

The person should be responsible for their own actions and deal with any consequences afterwards. If they want the MA-Pill then let them pay for it.

The cost should be restricted to cost price at point of sale though. I dont agree that its something where a profit should be made.

having unprotected sex is not an accident its a choice the couple make

I agree..........but sadly we live in an age where everyone thinks they are owed something and that other people should hold their hand through life.

yes but if you're super drunk and horny then it happens. it doesnt mean you wanted a baby.

would you prefer abortions as an alternative?

I remember once girl came in for the ma pill 7 times in 10 weeks, she did'nt give a crap about using other protection and she did not care about the effects of taking it so many times. When we refused issue number 8, she went mental saying that she "has the right".

I know, not really relevent but thought i mention it.

apparently it the pharmacist right to deny access, even on the grounds of their beliefs, not just on health implications.

Exactly.
You have enough money to buy alcohol the night before that gets you into this situation, so have enough money to pay for the consequences!

Come on now. People don't go from sober to smashed in the blink of an eye, whether on a full stomach or not. People should be responsible enough to know their limits when it comes to alcohol. The mere fact that they are often not is not in itself an excuse.

Because you dont need to, Oh i get it, you didnt get to pay for the MA pill for you Beautiful , Ex ,chav GF....say the truth byker.....

i know a girl that has had 4 abortions :|
sad thing is she is actually a really nice person.
but i reckon she probably wont be able to have kids when she actually wants them. :-(
I had nothing to do with her situations btw she is a friend of one of my highschool exs.

With the country's population at such a high level now I think the MAP is a very important tool.

Some scientists reckon the max sustainable population for the UK is 20 million. Immigration has increased our population too fast and now birth rates are getting higher (probably in some part because of immigrants starting families too).
