my car has just failed it's MOT, i have been told it needs front suspension arms. the thing is it failed on the same thing last year and we had them done. we have been to a different garage this time for the MOT, just phoned the garage we had them done by last year and he said they have a 12mth warrenty on them, surely these things should last longer. can anyone give me advice should they have gone again so soon :(

Get the warranty request under way as soon as possible before the 20th just to make sure that it is going to be done and accepted. Also, if you can get something on paper that shows that you made the garage aware of the defect prior to the warranty expiry date to keep yourself covered in case they pull a fly one on you.

If its a well known high street garage then it should be on their computer system. however if its an independent smaller garage they may try to pull a fly one.

i had these fail on my old fiesta every 2 years like clockwork. (in laws live over a level crossing) but i had one set fitted in a local ATS and they failed after 11 months. it took some arguing with the manager there but he eventually backed down and honoured the warranty. at first he tried to say that as i'd done 10,000 miles on them the warranty didn't apply until i pointed out that the national average mileage for cars is accepted to be between 12,000 & 18,000 miles depending on the organisation involved. trading standards informed that as far as they are concerned 10,000 miles would still be in warranty.
