Motorsport Marshaling

This is a shout for anyone who loves motorsport and would like to be involved but could never afford to race. Why not try marshaling? Its great fun. You get to go to loads of events free, get the best seat in the house, usually lunch and free ticket to give to a friend or family member. You dont need any training or qualifications as this is done during the events. I have done it for many years and it can be extremely exciting and also occasionally frightening. You get to make lots of good friends. The only costs is getting to the meetings and if you travel further away from home you need accomodation which is usually a tent or caravan. Start with your local circuit and see how it goes you wont regret it.

Been a marshal for 4 years now. Its a great way to get involved if you like Motorsport.

It suprising how many people watch motorsport and think they would like to marshal but think it must involve special skills or training before you can even be considered.

we get all this

only problem with marshalling here is it can be a day spent doing nothing due to delays caused by the weather
to be fair all marshalling has days like that but then the days when the doodoo hits the fan makes it worth it

I love all motorsport although i mainly do cars i have Marshaled the BSB at Croft a couple of years back but had a bad experience with the IO in charge of the post and the issue that you have to attend a racesafe training session yet i am a Post Chief for car marshalling

I just mean as a resident of IOM, you kind of have to like it. Just wondering if you would invite Guy Martin in for a cup of tea for example
