Motorsport Marshaling
This is a shout for anyone who loves motorsport and would like to be involved but could never afford to race. Why not try marshaling? Its great fun. You get to go to loads of events free, get the best seat in the house, usually lunch and free ticket to give to a friend or family member. You dont need any training or qualifications as this is done during the events. I have done it for many years and it can be extremely exciting and also occasionally frightening. You get to make lots of good friends. The only costs is getting to the meetings and if you travel further away from home you need accomodation which is usually a tent or caravan. Start with your local circuit and see how it goes you wont regret it.

only problem with marshalling here is it can be a day spent doing nothing due to delays caused by the weather

I love all motorsport although i mainly do cars i have Marshaled the BSB at Croft a couple of years back but had a bad experience with the IO in charge of the post and the issue that you have to attend a racesafe training session yet i am a Post Chief for car marshalling
before moving here i came almost every year for the tt and a few times for the manx, for me it was about the atmosphere and no speed limits as much as the races
sadly a lot of the atmosphere has been lost now from the prom in douglas and i haven't got no speed limits to look forward to as i'm here everyday lol
but race wise i don't travel to different viewing places as much as i used to and usually just watch from the square
i think anyone would have trouble keeping guy out if he wanted to visit for tea lol
