Just watched 2 movies over 2 days. Watched 'jackie' yesterday, probably had millions spent on it, what a load of rubbish, so boring. Then tonight watched 'a street cat named bob', what a really good little film, it'll never be a blockbuster but was a really good story. Just shows that you dont have to throw a lot of money at a film to make it good. Its just my opinion, but sometimes you read critics reviews and cant believe you are seeing same film they did.

Could be a nationality / culture difference. Frequently notice that sites such as IMDB often have punter-ratings that favour US material, especially gung-ho US material. I've seen ASCNB and enjoyed it. Not having read too much about it prior to viewing I was sceptical based on the blunt play on words for a certain 1951 film. Not yet seen Jackie.

I watched A Street Cat Named Bob last night and really enjoyed it. A great uplifting story.

Have you seen Lion , I saw that and La La Land last week, and it was by far my favourite. Mind you the screen I was due to watch LaLa Land in broke down and so we had an extra hours wait which may have altered my perception of it slightly ;) Should mention that seeing two films in a week is totally not the norm for me before anyone thinks I have more money than sense .

Saw Street Cat Named Bob at the cinema - was my sons choice, and at 9 years old I was a bit wary of taking him. He definitely isn't the target audience, but had a lot of questions about it afterwards and certainly gave him something to think about. He enjoyed it, mostly for Bob I think, and now likes to buy food and drink for the homeless in our town if and when we get the opportunity.

Lovely little film though, I enjoyed it.

Ah, who cares how many you see! Your money to spend how you wish. Get yourself a cineworld card, or the odeon one if you've got one local... cover the cost in 2 visits a month!

We saw T2 trainspotting last night, expected it to be closer to the book ('porno') but it wasn't, which did disappoint me a bit.

I still enjoyed it but I doubt it will be winning awards like the first did.

Edit - just to add, I read they filmed around 4 hours of scenes but the theatrical release is just under 2 hours long. Perhaps/hopefully a future directors cut will be better..

That got some lousy reviews, but I really enjoyed it, I think a lot of people just can't sit through a story that takes time to build . But also I'm always a bit put off by those films that have glowing five star reviews busting out all over, I don't think my taste seems to tie up with them quite often :)

Generally don't see more than one a month max, and like a bargain so usually borrow a meerkat code off my daughter to go. Just so happened she had a day off work so we went together and then my husband had a cheap offer for the same week . Have thought about the cineworld card before, but I think there would be some months I just wouldn't get chance to use it, also would have to buy two as I'm never quite sure about people who go to the cinema alone ..... Is that normal .... I've never worked it out :|

Very normal to be honest, particularly for people away from home on business/training without colleagues or family (just an example). You aren't supposed to socialise during the film anyway.. :p

I go on my own occasionally - I work shifts so sometimes find myself at a loose end when wife and kids are out in the daytime. It's quite nice actually - get to see my own choice of film and don't have to worry if nobody else is enjoying it!

I ask if anybody wants to go then if no is answer. I go on my own quite regularly love it
