Still got the whole down on celeb culture persona going on at the minute?

Hopefully Egypt will get sorted soon, instability in that region is never a good thing

How pathetically specific... instability in anywhere is never a good thing.

He was always going to cave in when the Military promised democratic elections, under their own steam. Lets just hope they allow plenty of observers in to make sure they are fair! :{

Thanks for bring rude, always makes my day when somebody I don't even know calls a post I make on an Internet forum pathetic. I'm obviously well below your intellectual level so feel it I almost a compliment that you took time out of your busy schedule to patronise me.

I would argue a little instability in this country could be good :) Perhaps not economic but in regards to the government. Lovely attitude Xiwt, what ever that is meant to mean.

Stewby - The comment "instability in that region is never a good thing" I still find pathetically specific, at best, and I felt like expressing that. I don't intend to patronise anyone and I find it unfortunate you took it that way.

I unequivocally apologise for perturbing you with my choice of words.

So you apologise unequivocally - but repeat it again anyway?

I really cant see what you find "pathetic". When unbalanced leaders are in charge, they tend to pick fights with a little country called Israel, who then retaliate and go on to kick their asses. Instability in the region is probably more serious than anywhere else in the world because of the economic implications of oil being in possession of nations still living in the 14th Century for much of their outlook. That and Suez.

guv - I don't expect you or anyone else to comprehend or agree with why I find it pathetically specific. I am a supporter of worldwide tolerance and peace amongst all. I cannot comprehend or agree with some of your conclusions.

I was merely expressing my opinion, which has not changed since I fail to see how instability in any region is a positive thing for any people, hence, I apologise to Stewby for causing any offence in expressing my opinion.

By stating instability is not good in a particular region does not then imply that i think instability is not a problem in other parts of the world. It is just my opinion that for a long while Egypt has been one of the more stable countries in the mddle east and that, coupled with Egypts key location on the Suez canal, means that global ramifications for what could be an incredibly torrid few months or even years for Egypt need to be considered.

It's not your opinion I find offensive, it's your choice of words. There is no need to class other peoples opinions as pathetic, even if you do think that. Anybody who has resort to just being rude in a discussion is probably not worth taking not of really I suppose.

Yes Stewby, it's the choice of words, that's precisely why I put it in bold because I think we have both been offended by the same thing.

But the difference bing I did not call anybody else or their opinions pathetic did I?
#20
Please, do not for a second entertain the idea that I have ever called you pathetic.

I specifically quoted a comment made by you and expressed my opinion on it. With hindsight, had I known you would have taken offence, I would have revised my choice of words, because I don't take pleasure in upsetting people. I saw your comment and it disturbed my values and what I stand for, hence I didn't take into account your feelings in writing my response, so I apologise.

I should have revised my choice of words to read as follows:

I think instability in any region is never a good thing.
#21
If you can't stand the heat then.. that is sometimes the rule here

I agree that people could express themselves in a less aggressive way but thats the nature of the crowd in here.
I don't believe it is 'PATHETIC' to hold the opinion that instability in that region is never a good thing, you can can disagree with it without using derogatory words.

I can quote you examples of where something shouldn't be taken at face value and instead try to understand the actual comments and meaning/implication from the person saying it.

At least Xwit offered an apology which is more than some ppl do here

And I totally agree with that statement. In this case though I would suggest that the volatile nature of some of the countries surrounding Egypt or who rely on Egypt for trade makes it essential that Egypt gets a strong interim government (I don't think having the army as an interim government is a great idea) and a fairly elected government asap.

No real offence taken and thanks for the apology.
