But I say so what!

She has Three kids and is spending about £500.00 on each of them, she is making their Christmas something to remember and seems like a great mum, some idiots are going as far as to say she is abusing her kids by doing this..

But I do not see how this is any different, than someone buying an £800 iPhone for their kids at Christmas, one that will prob have a cracked screen within a couple of weeks.

And sure she is spoiling them, but why not, when did spoiling kids become a bad thing? as long as they appreciate what they get then spoil em rotten I say.

It's not the fact that she is spending so much buying so many presents (although thats mental imo) thats bugs me but more the point she keeps going to the papers/tv about it! Just why?!

At a guess, attention seeking...

What an idiot... some of the presents from last year are unopened... doesn't that tell her something?

I don't think it's abuse, but i don't think her kids will really ever learn to appreciate any material possessions either.

Yes I agree with that, she likes the attention, I know lots of parents who post the same sorts of pics on Facebook, and when my kids were younger they got loads because younger kids stuff just tends to be cheaper or you can get more for the budget, than now they want PSVR etc..

Dammit! She has now cost me a flamedeer too as it appeared just after I clicked to get back to the main menu!

Feel tired looking at that pile!

Maybe someone could teach her about diminishing returns X)

Still, no need to hate on her. Save that for bad people.

No hate, just think she's foolish, and creating a rod for her own back.

Well I said as long as they appreciate it, but it does seem like they do not appreciate it.

I think what she is doing comes from a good place, but yes it is a bit silly to buy so much for what seems to show off in the papers.

Its no the size but how you use it?

So that works out on average at £5 per present.
I'd rather buy 1 or 2 larger items that I know would get used.
Mine between family get around £400/ £500 each and sometimes they get the money and want 1 large item and a few bits.
Seems silly to just have a volume of stuff that will never get used.
Poor santa will be knackered going there.

I have a relative like this. The children always got bored halfway through unwrapping and didn't appreciate the amount of tat they got.

See, my youngest likes to just open them..

Now he is Autistic and for him the excitement of ripping off paper is what the day is about, he doesn't care whats inside so we do buy an extra few bits of tat from poundland for him to have loads to open, but no where near 100 lol..

My elder boys make me laugh, they will ask for a gift, PSVR this year, thats all they want that and Steam vouchers, they would be happy with those 2 gifts and nothing else.

Hah! What I was trying to say is that I don't know how she got 96 presents for a teenager for £500! My son wanted a Xbox controller, new shoes and a jacket and that was £250 alone!

Rather gauche to be honest but to each their own. The idea of sitting and unwrapping presents for hours seems rather tedious and I wouldn't personally want my kids to grow up thinking Christmas was about hundreds of gifts.

I think Christmas should be a magical time and gifts like books and tickets to shows feel more in keeping than video games and popcorn makers.

A kid today who is spoilt will grow up with an unnatural expectation later on in life. So it does have a knock on effect.

Never heard ''Gauche" before, I know there was no intent, but the French Literal translation is 'Left' there has to be some Irony there somewhere. :{

No idea - just an observation. Might click and read...or not. The Sun relies on pictures rather than words.

Lives on Isle of Man; no comment on employment therefore must be employed (as the Sun would otherwise highlight "unemployed mum of three buys .... ".

I only believe things from KCNA, so I didn't read myself.

Looks like I need to move to the Isle of Man if work is that good.

i am guilty of a few cheap tat presents to make the pile a little bigger but unfortuately this year my budget for each of them is small. but thanks to this place its stretched pretty far! if id payed full RRP price for it all would be over £500 each but its not even close to half that! i want them to see christmas as a time for giving not just recieving so they get to do their own xmas shopping too, learn to budget too etc. im sure she has good intentions but i wouldnt do it that way
