yeah of course im not being being racist it was just a simple question, i know its part of their religion and i respect that but if i walked around wearing a veil theres no doubt i would be told to remove it.

Apparantly it's not even a part of their religion, it was just a way of control for men in middle eastern countries but now women optionally wear it just to show that they are good, respectful women. This is why not many muslim women wear it and some don't even condone the wearing of veils. This is what I've been told so I may be wrong but it was one of my muslim friends that told me.

in that case muslims should respect the rules and laws of our country as i would if i visited their country of origin.
#22
So in the rare circumstances that a fleeing criminal may be wearing a veil to hide their identity. They should just get away with it, because it might be a bit rude to ask them to remove it?

Oh and this all reminded me of this pic:

Theres no law against it either lol, wouldn't surprise me if there was before long though with I.D cards being on the agenda a lot.

I see you found the answer, yes they do get taken to another room and get checked by females, and no it does not make them go through passport checks any quicker, actually it is slower as there are not always the excess female checkers available to check them out, so it will be slower for them.

You can also look at them any way you want, the best way is treat them as if you were looking at a blind person, always smile and be polite. It annoys me as well :giggle:

And as for eating, they don't wear them at home so they have no problems eating and if they are out they will have a few dates or figs under their 'habits' to munch on :whistling:
#30
What if they get the munchies whilst out? That must be a real ******.
#31
There is no need to show the public your face in order to get through the passport/security check. A police women can do the check in a way compatable with the religous requirements of those women. Apart from this, they can manage to do every thing without difficulties as long as they have their God's satisfication.

its a choice of a woman to wear the viel or not some wear it so no one else can see there face except there husband or family also regarding to for airpot checks as you said any women who are at the check in are allowed to see the face.

Apparently, you were mis informed, it is part of the religion others just dont want to observe it......
#37
What is strange is that in Turkey, a predominantly Muslim country, women are not allowed to wear even head scarves, let alone face coverings in public buildings, including Universities.

Just curious as to exactly what you mean by that? :?

I always thought it was something to do with being unmarried

So would anyone like to give me the reason why women do actually wear these, i know its religion but what are the reasons behind it?
