MW2 Stimulus package...Worth it?

Rukshan Avatar

was wondering what the opinion on this would be. I got the game on launch night and loved it to bits. Then lost my love for it once I got online on Battlefield 2. Wondering if I should part with some ££ to try the new maps..

Is the map pack worth 12£ ?
If it is worth it- Why?
Will it manage to get people back to MW2?

sorry 10.99£

do you have 360 rukshan i will add u i have the same story with cod loved it now i love bfbc2
#3
should give it a try. should add a whole new dimension......!
if you're on PS, you won't be able to get it any time soon......
#4
shame.. I am on the PS3... Its supposed to be out but I guess the store is slow due to the demand. I still cant justify 11£ for some maps. Specially since Battlefield gives the new maps for free...

any chance that the maps get cheaper or go on sale?

I have 20£ thanks to the HUKD deal I saw for 15£ off woolworths or some thing :) Wondering what to spend it on :)

It's 5 maps how is it ever possibly worth £11. £3 at most, got to be stupid to pay it.

It's worth paying whatever people are prepared to pay. And what is stupid for getting more from a game if you really like it? Be worse buying one of the many new releases only to realise they are pants.

okay heres my input:
Firstly, its gone up in price from all prevous map packs
Secondly, the other maps (cod5) had 5 NEW maps and a zombie map
notice how i put new? Yes, cod 6 only has three new maps and 2 old ones from cod 4 which i believe should warrant a decrease in price not an increase
furthermore, i think these are a rip off at the original price, let alone the inflated price with 3 new maps...

just my 2 cents.

Simple Short Answer = No
#8
it is a rip.
but it depends on how badly you want new maps to play online.....
with mw2 being such a popular online game, many will get it and whilst i hate the price, i will be in those ranks.

I haven't brought it for the main reason that they have only created 2 new maps and brought back 2 maps from COD4 and they didn't exactly choose the best maps (overgrown and crash) luckily enough i have a 360 so it isn't costing me as much as it does on the ps3 or the pc. As for BFBC2, i think its a brilliant game, but i personally prefer cod :) HTH

they can be shared so if u know 3 ppl u trust will only cost a few £ each like me and my clan did 3 accounts downloaded and shared with 12 others works a treat

did the same, £10.99 divide by 5 (can be activated on 5 different consoles) works out £2.20 per head.

Do you have to buy the maps for the PC version ??

No-one charges for new PC maps, if htey are they are eedjits after they ruined it with the servers for a start

Simple answer

For what it is it's expensive, but it is only £10 after all

Definately liven's up a game that was becoming dead
I would recommend it, eventually buying it, happy I did

im not 100% sure if they do charge for the PC version, but going from the stupid amount you have to pay for the maps, i wouldn't put it past them

Since when do you pay for PC update packs.
They must be losing the plot, after losing their PC fanbase with no dedicated servers, they stick the boot in trying to charge for new maps.
You just dont do that on PC, this is the first ive heard about it.
Its always been consoles that charge for that rubbish, PCs dont.
Its probably easy enough to hack it anyway, its PC it always is lol

Only been out of the PC gaming loop a year or two, but whats the hells happening to it jeezo.

As i said, i wasn't a 100% sure if they would charge or not, but from previous map packs, it doesn't look like it will, but if its free for the PC version, i dont see why they would make people pay for it on consoles?! Its stupid!

They charge for PC now
Thats me not buying any more of their franchise.

Consoles are the ones that started the trend to pay for map-packs.
PC's were always free. Youd get new maps put in the updates for bugfixes and the likes, or just a random new map every so often.
Also users with mods and their own maps, is why PC is so sweet.

Now they are trying to do the same for PC, hell mend them.
PC users arent going to pay for new maps and get the pee ripped out of them like console users.

Ha, so i was right :) oh well, im not going to buy it for my 360 anyway, its just stupid that they make us pay that much for new maps, especially when 2 of the maps which they have put on there are from cod4, seriously if i wanted to play them maps, i would just put the other disc in. It's just pathetic how they try and scrounge money out of people!

The Battlefield 2 booster packs were £6 each and they sold so badly they had to give them away for free in the end. And they included new maps vehicles and weapons.

The BC2 DLC was on the disk so it wasn't DLC at all just making people buy new. Worse than IW overcharging for the map packs

That the old Battlefield 2?
I got the SF one, cant mind if i paid for it but i went a bit mad with the mods for it lol
Battlefield Pirates and that mad french one with the Teletubbies vs Care Bears fighting with paintball guns rofl
Just had a quick look and its still installed on my PC, the Mod folder is 21Gb and i think thats with some clearing lolol

Well there's only one BF2, but yes you could call it the old one. And I don't SF, I mean Euro Forces and Armoured Fury.

Old one and best one lol
God i lost too much of my life to that game rofl
Yea i'm one of the ones that never bought those two, they looked crap.
SF was in a box set with BF2 i think the 2nd time i got it.
Just remember the grappling hook was sweet for finding hiding spots lol
Euro Forces wouldnt have been as good as NAW anyway, that was immense.

And Bad Company i couldnt get into, it was just weird and i didnt like it.

Deffinately not worth it, but im still gonna buy um cos its really the only game I play. Bought grand theft auto iv on release day and fifa 10, none even made it into my system cos i was playing cod 5, they are still sitting there untouched, ive given up buying new games now until im bored with the one im currently playing.
So in a way yes it is worth it cos id rather spend £11 and it last me a few months than spend £40 on a new release to find it is crap / left sitting on the shelf

Make up your mind

I think its a total rip off seeing as though its only really 3 new maps and it works out at about a third of the cost to buy the full game brand new. I'm going to try avoid the cod series until they start giving something back to the buyers of the game, even if it was just dedicated servers then I'd wouldn't mind paying extra for online maps

What I meant is its very expensive but for the £11 I'm gonna get a good few hours worth of game play, so i recon both statements stand :p

I said BF2 not BFBC2, if you don't know what you're talking about then don't try and join in.
