My boiler is kaput!

I have a really old Baxi FS 401 boiler (not a back boiler - it's the free standing kind), and the pilot light seems to have gone out. It was in my house when I moved in and I have no instructions for it or anything, and I can't find a manual online - I thought someone might have one maybe, or does anyone have any idea how to get it going? I don't want to blow us all up but it is freezing in my house tonight!
Thanks for any help.

Maybe there is a gas engineer that you could call that could fire it up?
Just an idea.

I will in the morning if I have to.
Although £50 to light a pilot light will pain me.

Thank you for the link - I would if it was there but it isn't. They only start at the FS 601.

Thank you, I think you are right and that is what it needs - I just wanted to try relighting the pilot light before I called the engineer. The problem is, when it says "You ignite your pilot light whilst holding your button in..." I don't know which button to hold in!

It is a 401, but I think BBU is back boiler unit? They are two different things.

A back boiler goes behind a fire - thats why that thread talks about a fire. Thanks anyway.

If the pilot light continues o go out, the pilot injector needs cleaning or it needs a new thermocouple, very simple jobs but you will need to get somone registered to do it

You saved me £50 - plus only an idiot would call an engineer out to light the pilot light ;)

That's the trouble with this site at times, you ask for help/advice and get sarcastic answers.

I remember when i was young living at home and the pilot light used to go out on my parents boiler and being shown by my Dad how to do it,it used to go out when it was windy hehe
