Bought my Merc in March.Started making a weird clicking noise so I contacted warranty company who said to take it to a particular garage.
The chap said to come back Tuesday as fully booked. I did not have anyone to pick me up on the Tues so asked if I could leave it with them until it was fixed.I phoned yesterday to ask if there was any news and they said they had not had a chance to look at it.
Today they phoned and said they couldnt find anything wrong with it (he said it had been driven around and no noise could be heard). My boyf took me to get it this evening.
After about 2 minutes of driving I realised the seat was wet.My trousers were soaking (Please no did you wet yourself jokes!) My boyfriend was driving behind me so I pulled over and so did he.The seat was DRIPPING wet.
I phoned the garage to complain and he said I must have left the window open and I said no chance! He said that one of the boys must have left it open an inch!He DIDNT even say sorry! He obviously didnt care.
WHAT SHALL I DO?I am thinking of ringing the garage I bought it from for advice (although they use this garage for their warranty repairs)
What shall I do?I was meant to be going out for the day tomorrow and now I cantHELPPPPP

***no really I dont want any stupid jokes*** I am in a BAD MOOD LOL

thats no fun, doubt you can do much about it apart from putting something on your seat to sit on.

Gemmy in all seriousness you have to make them responsible. Be professional, take some photos, tell them you are going to bill them with dry cleaning charges etc.
Don't talk to some mechanic, go straight to the garage owner.

You need to do something because there is a chance you may get water stains on the seat.

Complain as well to the Warranty Company pointing out how bad the customer service at their recommended garage is.

Good luck. (apologies for the lame joke BTW)

Have you thought about paying the mechanic by cash or bank card like everyone else?

seriously

women + cars = trouble

so the garage made an honest mistake and left your window down. boo hoo. does it stop the car working? no. so why cant you do what any normal person would do and put a towel on the seat till it dries then febreeze it?

with all due respect its not a 'new' car is it? either that or the Merc garage would have fixed it, not sent it out somewhere else.

An honest mistake? Then an apology would be nice!!

hon, thats terrible, you really need to make a proper complaint. speak to the manager or owner of the garage, call the place who told you to take the car there too.. make sure you follow up any complaint in writing. Tell them they have 14 days in which to respond to your cmplaint or you will be taking further action.

You can get moisure things that are meant for condensation from wilkos and homebase Might be worth leaving in car overnight or when not in use.

Also sit on a towel while driving should be able to soak up some of it and take spares and bags to put wet towels in..x

What a stinky attitude from Dime bar.Car is still under warranty so they can send it where they like!

further action in this sense basically means you contact a solicitor and for a fixed fee they should write a letter to the garage owners with a copy of your complaint ( keep photocopies of everything )

Just more oomph than doing it alone. But contact them yourself first.

used to work in the motor trade and not once did we (a main franchised dealer) send our warranty repairs elsewhere.

if i had a merc i would insist that Mercedes fixed it.
what do you expect to get out of this? The most you will get will be an apology, and is it worth tha hassle of pursuing?

put it down to experience, if you get any more trouble with the car insist to the warranty company that they do not send it to the same garage again.
