He was a really nice bird that would always do a song and dance every time I whistled a tune for him, as he would immitate it...and then the female would get a little frisky and he'd make her scream lol.

Video of his talent in the next post...it's not a sexual talent before some of you get excited.

And so you should...as the female bird won't stop crying since we emptied out the nest of the eggs and her partner.

Now I find its all true that RFM likes a cockatwo.

it is an ex parrot .. it has ceased to be ..

My sisters cockatiels laid eggs too, none of them hatched either, she said they seemed empty.

Sorry for your loss, our budgie lasted a good 8 year before he died, broke my Mum's heart.

Cheers mate, my mum is quite upset, as she loves her pets and hates the way the female cries from heartbreak.

Is it possible that she will accept another male?

My mum has kept birds but I haven't any knowledge myself.

That's the thing, her previous partner died years ago, so we bought a young bird to make sure it'll be around for a while, which took about ages to get close to her current partner.

I was actually going to film another clip because I couldn't get the best shot but didn't expect him to die so soon, so never got around to doing it.

if the eggs haven't hatched after so long you are supposed to take them away or the birds starve to death..were they not swapping every so often?

And how long is that, Mr Muppet?

We didn't touch the eggs because we heard that if you intervene, then they'll leave the eggs and even if they do hatch, they'll actually starve them to death.

The female is still eating but I'm glad to see you think you know everything. :whistling:

a young jackdaw came in my garden last week and, to cut a long story short, sat happily on my arm or shoulder for most of the day

stayed overnight in the garden and then flew off the next day

i may sound mushy but it was a wonderful experience.

Thank you very much, the female is looking after the last couple eggs, as apparantly they were born on a later date, so here's hoping they hatch and can keep her company during her lonely times. :)

I played the clip to him in the past as well and it would make him do a sing and dance every time. :giggle:

He was actually quite a sweet bird...even my bro liked them and he doesn't care about birds. lol

How is the female coping, and did any of the eggs hatch?

p.s. I am aware it is over a year later!
