My Confidence In The Police - Not The Band

I know some people had some fairly bad dealings with the police as of late but I have to say I spent a lot of time in communication with them yesterday and have to say they've changed my opinion, I feel that my council tax is actually doing some good.

Ok so yesterday my house was broke into, I get a call from our alarm should it go off which it did, I assumed that a piece of glass had fallen from the outer pane of our patio doors onto the inner pane which is pressure sensative (this was broken on saturday by a golfball as we live on the back of a course) so I rang my missus who was at her mums just round the corner to come back and switch it off as to not annoy the neighbours as next door works nights.

Anyway she walks through the front door she stands on the alarm panel which they've ripped off the wall (in an attempt to turn it off? good plan) she hears the back door slam so runs out he front and dials 999 as you would, it took less than 3 minutes to have a policeman-officer outside and a further 2 before a 2nd car and an unmarked car turned up, bu this time next door neighbour was out and had a walk round the back but they'de jumped over the palisade fence across the golf course with whatever they could get their hand on from my gaffe.

Missus then rang me so I came home from work, a good 40 mins drive, by time I got there it was like a scene from CSI, there was someone sat interviewing the neighbour, someone else with the missus and someone forensic bird dusting for prints, all a bit OTT in my opinion, but I had to give my prints as did she, the woman found a few knocking about but believes they were wearing gloves as there were fabric marks round the tv where they've disconected wiring etc.

Anyway about an hour after everyone had gone and I'm trying to clean up, I get a call, saying they've stopped some kids with one of my cameras and a wad of cash, so was asked to describe what images were on there (sorry guys last used for a site visit) which matched up so these little chavs were arrested.

Anyway its all on going, but I'm so shocked and supprised at the attitude of the police nowadays, I've always had the opinion that they had a bit of a cavalier but laid back approach to things, but they've really turned it around for me.

Just thought I'd share that with you all.......

Also the fact Dean/JFK might not be on for a couple of days lol

Sorry to hear about the break-in, must be quite upsetting, especially for your wife

But credit to the police for acting so quickly and for also catching the little toe-rags

Thanks for taking the time to write, bet the bobbies were made up too. We join up to catch the little beggars, there is no better feeling than getting hold of them and throwing them in a cell.
Cheers and rep from me

imo its not the police that are all that bad its the british justice system, i mean the police work hard to catch a criminal and then the system lets them get away with it

+ 1...The police are doing a days work, and should be praised for what they do, not what they don't do :)
