Contract is up with o2 from CPW have 1200 mins and 500 txts on £40 a month

After 3 calls and ALOT of negotiating the best deal they can give me is...

£35 a month 600 mins and 500 texts.

I was hoping to get the same contract for around £20 mark! My friends were telling me they were on a £30 tarrif but after haggling and saying they were gonna leave they got it for £5 a month.

I negotiated 20 a month for 400mins and 1000 texts and 100 quid credit and a n95 last year.
Threaten to leave and ask to speak to someone in disconnections, should get a better deal.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

thats a kack offer from them....you can get that on sim only for £20 or even a better deal!.....cancel it and get yourself a new phone and a better deal :)

My current new contract is a 24 month, 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited internet or landline calls or whatever I choose, and I can change the bolt-on every 3 months. Got a new N95-8GB plus I get an extra 20 or 30 mins a month as a bonus. All for £30 a month. Suits me.

Say your gonna leave and ask for your PAC code. if they don't come up with any better deal then do just that. As you say your friends have found better deals so join them :) you've got nothing to lose except maybe the fondness of keeping the same number :o

If all else fails, try Dialaphone. Most of their contracts are 18 months long, offer 600mins, unlimited texts and a brand spanking new phone. They seem to be able to offer the best deals on all networks in my experience. You may even get a free gift along with your shiny new phone.

Give it a try - http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/

I've seen some great deals on there lately. Good luck!

If they are the same as Vodafone, once they have sent you your pac code someone from a different department will call you and give you a decent deal, this department has more money to play with when offering you a retention deal. They only give you good deals when you are halfway out the door.

Just mention those 3 little letters - P A C .....and you'll have them eating out of your hands

I am with o2 online, go straight through to cancellations which is option 2 , 2 . I negotiated a c902 before Christmas. @ 20 pound a month for 600 minutes and 1000 texts and a choice of bolt on, which I chose the Internet. I decided to send that phone back and just ordered the c905 today but they could not give me the 15 pound a month discount, could only give me 10 discount, so now my contract is 25 a month. And they were gonna offer me free home Internet, but I don't have a bt line. Allways go straight through to cancellations that's where they have authority to do deals, but before you try there have a go on some price comparsion sight so you have some knowledge of deals elsewhere, and tell them you can get a better deal there. Good luck, hopefully my new phone will be here the Moro!

yes you must be prepared to leave them when haggling for new offers!!

even if they give you the pak code, it dont mean your contract is over. if you dont use the code, the contract carries on.

Try and find the deal you want on the net, let them know and tell them u want to cancel and go to that new contract with another operator. if they can meet you with the deal great, if they cant, just get the code and get out of it lol/

In my experience i have found that most contracts are best bought from the network provider as opposed to from a shop that sells them (CPW, the Link etc)
I would look at cancelling the contract and starting up a new one with someone else or at the very least speaking with your local O2 shop and suggest playing one off against another, they should offer you a better deal in order to keep your custom. (hence the talk of £5 per month contracts etc)

well i agreed the above upgrade with a new phone but today ive taken te phone back to CPW store as i dont want the upgrade anymore.

Will call them tomorrow to tell them to cancel it and release my PAC code as i would rather leave and get a simplicity deal or something which works out better and cheaper. Will update

I am with O2 through CPW and this week they gave me 12 months free line rental (via chequeback) on a 12 month contract. It costs £40 a month for 600 minutes and 500 texts and I claim the money back every 3 months.

That it what deal I have had for the past 3 years but I had to push them to give me that this time

Yuo never told us what phone,Obviously if it is an expensive phone then you have to pay for it somehow, N96 perhaps ?

The PAC code remedy is funny, I got from O2, 800mins, 400 texts, unlimited land line and O2 to O2 calls for £10 a month for 18 months. haha
#22
I wanted tp upgrade so phoned O2, and got for £27 for 18 months Free Samsung Tocco, 1200 xnet mintues, 100 texts, and chose the unlimited internet bolt on! Just haggle is the best way and keep trying

Anyone know if 12 month contracts are still around? Met a lot of resistance last year and only managed to get one after asking for my pac code. They called me with one day left on my contract and said they'd do 600mins & 600texts x-network for £25 per month. I just don't like being trapped for 18 months!

With CPW/02 I had to negotiate from 12 months free on an 18 month contract to 12 months free on a 12 month contract. The first advisor I spoke to said that they aren't doing 12 month contracts anymore, but they obviously are as the second advisor gave me one!

No it s not beleive me ... on paper that HTC blows Iphone away but in reality it s nothing like the iphone .. the touch screen is not really very touchy , u got to try few times before u can grab what u want ..... nothing at all like the iphone (and that s why it s equiped with stylet ) ...battery life is not great ,the phone is bulky and windows mobile 6.1 sux .. i had the fone for 2 good days and i would not recommend it at all ..

I've started playing with Orange for my contract renewal in February. Really **** offers at the moments.

There are a few threads on MSE that list what people have managed to get etc, worth a look!
#29
Right my original contract was
1200 mins
500 txts
Nokia luna (at the time i sold it for £320)
18 months contract
£50 a month (£40 after cashback)

Now they have offered me
600 mins
1000 texts
unlimited o2 to o2 calls (everyone i know is on o2 so this is great)
Samsung pixxon (worth £270 if i sold it on)
£35 a month (£25 after cashback)
Plus when i sell the phone on (as i use my own phone) works out £10 a month

So im happy
