My daughter breeds snakes/reptiles they are in her house almost 100 miles away ... thank goodness ! I am not that keen on them to be honest !
Thought the pics were interesting though as it's not something you see everyday !
She has some eggs hatching & I will post pics when they pop out in a few weeks time.
(The Boa's above were a 'live birth' as you can see !!

You consider that a warning? A lot of us use text mode on here so don't get to see whats in a post until we click on it. Add to that the warning in the 1st post was :WARNING : If you do not like snakes then do not look !! , no mention of blood and guts type pics.

Not having a go btw, just stating an opinion as the images are rather 'graphic'

The birth part doesnt put me off as i have seen many lambs, piglets and calves born, its the freaky bit that reminds me of something out of Indiana Jones i think but like you say its not everyday you see snakes like this

MMMMMM nice pics lol!

'' Mum'' is just over 5' and is normally really 'tame' but apparantly she ''has the right 'ump'' at the moment ( as babies have had to be taken away from her, out of her tank .... ) awwwwwwwww & who can blame her...bless

Could make interesting kebabs

Just what you want, bloody great big snake with the hump!

Brilliant pics - thanks for sharing them! Didn't know so many were born at once - pretty exhasuting for the mama. My partner was cursing me each time one arrived! She would have murdered me if 21 came along, I'm sure...
#28
Looks like one of my Stews actually.

Hope they will all be very happy together.

Sorry Shengis, I have updated the Thread title a bit ... didn't mean to put you off your lunch ! :)

Part of a reptiles definition is that do they do not give live birth?? Is that not true? They supposed to lay eggs?

That would make that boa 1/2 mammal????

Great pics
#32
Brilliant!! Didn't realise they had so many at one time!! We used to have a royal python, don't know what i would do if it had had anywhere near that amount of babies!! http://www.forumsextreme.com/imgs1/sSc_jawdrop2.gif
Pictures are great by the way! Obviously not for the squeamish!!

Boas do not lay eggs. Instead, they give birth to live young. The young are attached to a yolk sac and surrounded by a clear membrane, not a shell, as they develop in their mother’s body. That way they are kept at a fairly constant temperature and are protected from predators. When the young are ready to be born, they are pushed out an opening called the cloaca. They are still surrounded by the protective membrane and must break it open. Then they are on their own to start protecting themselves (usually by hiding at first) and to find food. Most are smaller versions of the adults and instinctively know how to survive on their own.
