non necessarily -
my daughter lost heres lat winter It is an I pod 32gb - that week it rained and rained and about 4 days after loosing it I saw something on the pavement down the street, went over to it and it was her I Pod, it was soaking wet we put it on top of the radiator (on top of a towel) and two days later it started up and has worked ever since
Worth a Try - Good luck
