I think you'll have a hard time getting anything off them without a receipt but if you don't try you won't get anywhere.

Next time put the receipt in the empty box and throw it in the loft, saved me having to buy another blender when it burnt out the motor last month.

There is a simple solution to this problem.

Buy another one from ASDA, then using the new receipt take the old broken one back.

I don't normally recommend this but as you are genuine...

Should be a guarantee in the box from the manufacture....ring them and tell them what happened. Lay it on thick ;-)

This works fine until they try to insist you take a replacement, then you end up with 2. In this case it's the best solution.

ask him if he will replace it then

p.s I have took my bank statement before and showed them the payment, if you say you are willing to accept it on a giftcard they should honour it.

By George you cant be serious!!!!!!!!

If you paid by card youll be covered, as you can prove your purchase :)

This is why i rarely pay cash, as im terrible with reciepts!

Well not really, if you bought it as part of a load of shopping then you could prove that you bought that specific item!

This is not the case, within 28 days of purchase they have to offer you a refund or a brand new replacement (if they don't offer then you can request and they have to), after 28 days then its only a replacement (and it can be a refurb) or a refund if they are unable to replace within a "reasonable" time scale.

Yup, i seriously pay for all my electrical goods on there own, im THAT bad with recipets

But, as you also suggested, in the past ive thought about buying something again and taking it back on the new recipets.
Fortunatly, you can usually fight your corner by saying, it blew up after a week, why would i want another one!

Thats pretty much always works... if not then phone the shops customer service / head office and if its tesco or boots they just refund you no questions asked by points.

called ASDA' central number and they informedme that the policy on electrical good is that i should have the receipt, however the chap did tell me to try my local store as they may be a bit lenient with me not having a receipt. if that doesnt work i can call george
