Who likes them?

And, they lay about 100 eggs, if not more at a time. I've had to seperate the two love machines now! They "make love" by shooting white darts into each others neck. Sounds great doesent it?

That's why they have the nickname "Shelled Cupids".

100 eggs at once? That's got to hurt, I thought the chicken had it bad.

I keep mine in a platic fish tank. But they can be kept in a plastic or glass fish tank, well really anything with holes on the top so they can breath.

They eat most fruit and vegetables, cucumber is there favourite.

Yep, i think so. They are sold on ebay as "live food" as they cant be sold as pets on ebay.

But they still make great pets.
#21
ta might get some, as my children love nature, animals etc.

Yes, they are an African delicacy and you will find them within the Nigerian and Ghanaian communities. The ones I see would make your skin crawl, you need two hands just to lift them out of the boxes and some have been the size of a football.

I absolutely hate the big ones :viking:

Hey... was only joking.:giggle:

Actually love eating snails (escargots), but lets face it...flavour is overpowered by the butter, garlic and parsely.

Just wondered what you would do with 100 additional snails when they hatch!
#25
What would i need to get me started, looking at getting one or 2 now lol

The idea of snails enjoying a big foamy bubble bath is rather amusing.

Not alot just a plastic tank, compost and a cuttlefish bone.

I have posted a link above that should help you.

If there is anyone in the Lancs area who wants any you are welcome to some of mine when they hatch.

I haven't got the heart to destroy them lol
