im sure that the money that rougue traders use to give to the..err..rougue traders is part of our license fee right??

i think it is outrageous that these dodgy blokes get paid their cash in full, and rougue traders hand it over, and we dont even get a happy finish!!!!!

the climax - there is no climax!!

id rather they take some photos of all the individuals, take video recordings of them, and just stick it up on a website or make a quick show of all the dodgy traders who did a shoddy job at other peoples houses, without getting them to do a job for them and paying them!!

(^^ possible website idea :-D)

i will believe rougue traders if they just say that so-and-so are dodgy!!!

we dont need RT (rougue traders) to hire them and pay them!! i will take their word for it!!!

thinking of writing a letter and getting some support so we can start a petition!!

what up?!?!

If that bothers you as a waste of license payers money - consider what those morons on Top Gear cost - randomly blowing up cars/driving against each other in differing countries to prove a 'point' yada yada...

This is where the license fee argument will always fall down. I, personally, think Top Gear is amazing, one of my favourite shows, but never watch any period dramas, Dr. Who, Merlin etc. Which must cost more than Top Gear to produce.

It's impossible to please everyone, all of the time. There's loads of tosh on TV i don't watch, or want to watch, so i just don't watch it. There's plenty that i do though, mainly American Stuff which is imported (another waste of license payers money?)

With the Rogue Trader thing isn't it a case of it's better to spend say £100 'outing' a rougue trader, which will save many viewers a lot of money had they been looking for a new boiler/fix their car etc.

they sometimes return the money though, to the BBC and to the people who were involved in the show.

and look on the bright side.......it saves people getting ripped off in the future.......those people could be us, the "tax payers"

and nothing better then getting criminals off the street.

id rather pay for that then pay tax which goes to cops who cant do anything to most criminals, either because of their age or either because their not allowed to use guns unless in extreme situations.

Top Gear is one of the only programs that actually makes money for the BBC.

It is syndicated worldwide.

Well Said -

To those of you who who keep saying -

"Ooh think of the amount of people who dont get ripped off because of the show"

Have you even considered my suggestions? Why dont you read the suggestions, yes, suggestions, not suggestion, suggestions, i have made, and consider that first.

How do you propose they video them without getting them around to do a job?

they take a video of the job after it is done.

this is how they find rogue traders. people report their shoody job, RT go around, take snaps of the shoddy job, call in the RT, film him do the shoddy job (even though 50+ people will have reported them) then RT will pay them, for something that was expected anyway.

instead, RT should take snaps and do a video highlighting the shoddy jobs already taken place, name and shame the traders.

find out where they work, film their faces, and upload it. (yes it is legal)

simples.

Ok, how is that proof that they did it though? They surely need to make sure that they are actually 'shoddy' before going on national TV and teling everyone that they are.

I see your point, but, imo, it's not as much of a waste of money as other things the BBC do. But like i said, no-one will be pleased with everything.
