  [COLOR="Magenta"]do you use the aol software ? if so id uninstall it (assuming you have a router and not a modem ) and use firefox you can still do everything as you did with aol software ! it`s the best thing i ever did [/COLOR]

  Its AOL its carp,mine says not responding EVERY day at some point,i reboot and its ok again.

  put the heating on it will warm up you internet
  
  as above remove the aol software it uses too much resources and is no longer needed if you have a router
  firefox or goolgle chrome

  AOL are **** end of story esp. if ur on a phoneline connection (BT) all phone line based internet connection is..........anyway i suggest if u think you mite have a virus then download AVG its free security for ur computer and the best about, much better than norton etc. if u have a virus that will sort it. but if its just ur connection then ur screwed unless u can change to a cable connection (virgin or something) plus remove all the stupid aol software as others have suggested, its rubbish and u dont need it, just slows ur computer down more. good luck :)

  I got to as far as "i am on aol" before realising there's no way I can help you when you're with A.O.Hell....
  
  I've been with them a couple of times... been through hell and back with them. Never again. And after I left them the final time they continued to dock my bank account with the charge for using them for 18 MONTHS!! And I just couldn't get it stopped no matter what I did. It got that bad I felt like just changing my bank account until I finally got it sorted. They kept trying to tell me via phone and emails and letters etc that I was still logging on and using their service.... Bull****.

  oh and they only refunded the last three months I paid them "as a courtesy... we don't need to be doing this". depsite me paying for about 18 months when I had cancelled them + uninstalled.

  I agree i always say aol's favourite saying is "aol is not responding", i have had problems with aol for a week and need a new router which they said "let me just check you are entitled to a new router" I thought the cheeky buggars, so i'm waiting for my new router and borrowing my dad's spare one in the mean time x x x x x

  [COLOR="Magenta"]is it the old speed touch 576 modem? if i was you i`d buy a cheap wireless router i paid £10 for mine off flea bay and id get rid of any aol software on the pc you`ll be amazed how much hassle free you`ll be i get no more not responding no more waiting for aol to load up and Joanna Lumley saying welcome to aol lol :-D[/COLOR]
