I recently bought two kittens, both 8 week old sisters. They are constantly going mental and have funny five minutes where they play fight which is fine, but they keep running at eachother and headbutting! Also they jump up to the top of the stairs and try and jump all the way down and when they chase eachother they run smack into doors and objects in my living room. They are only tiny and one must have hit her head really hard at least 5 times in the past 2 days. I know it sounds daft but im really worried shes going to do some serious damage!! Especially when im at work, does anyone have any tips i could try? Or is it simply because they are trying to settle in.........

Hi
I always thought that with young kittens it was best to confine them to one room until they get settled. It sounds like they have gotton a bit excited with all the space they have. It might be safer for a while to have them in one roon until they get used to the surroundings. Good luck!

Keep them in a smaller space, they proabably havent been allowed to roam too far, when we had our kittens we kept them in one room. Start them off in an area then increase the allowed area each week. :) And lastly post some pics, I love kittens! :)

Getting to know your Kitten
It can take days or even weeks to establish a relationship with a kitten so please be patient. Kittens need time to bond with you and before long your new kitten will become your best friend.

For the first few weeks, your kitten shouldn't be allowed to roam your home unsupervised when you are not there. You should put your kitten back in their own room with their litter tray, food and water. Make sure your new kitten also has a comfortable bed or basket to sleep in with some toys to play with.

It may be worth considering obtaining two kittens from your breeder especially if you will be out of the home for most of the day. This way they will always have a constant playmate and two cats can exercise each other far more effectively than you can.

Please remember that your new kitten should be kept indoors at all times and shouldn't be allowed outdoors until they are old enough to cope with outdoor life.

Well they are kept in the hallway at night and when im at work, i tried blocking off the stairs with boxes but the little ******s jump over. When i come home i let them sit in the livingroom with me and thats when they go the most mad!!! Maybe i should keep 2 one room then. Im too soft when they cry I just take them with me wherever i go!!

Get them all on the Jeremy Kyle show, he will help them through their anger; or just throw some Tuna in their basket.
