My Microsoft 2007 trial expired - does anyone know of a good deal to purchase software?

My months trial has expired on the new laptop that runs on Windows 7. Not being a techy person wondered if anyone could suggest a good deal to now go on any purchase software as its really annoying that I can amend any of my documents!!
Only really for home use so i think I would only need the home/student version.
Thanks for any help :)

I've never met anyone who actually wanted to pay for it! I had a trial of 2007, but reverted to 2003, I find it much more user friendly, or I just dont like change...
