My new pc build - problems, help!

So i built my new pc the other day, evrything appered to work fine, i was on it last night just browsing internet etc.

I then went to turn it on this morning and i kept getting errors, windows has stopped working etc, tried rebooting and i was still getting errors, blue screens etc

Just come home now and found a blue screen again, so it then went through start up repair and when rebooted it has come on as normal, but all programmes i have installed have gone.

Is it likely a problem with one of the programmes has caused this or will it be a hard ware problem?

Also, do i need to update all the drivers for my mobo as i went to the manafacturers website and there appear to be loads of them

any help appreciated

I would install the drivers, not sure it would fix the problems you're having, but is wise imo

:{ yeah, but it's worked fine on my two laptops, i did think that could be the issue though...is that very likely?

Dunno but it might be a possibility,I would definitely install the chipset driver first ,

If there are yellow triangles in device manager then install those missing drivers, any others are optional. Windows Update will pick up any important ones. Look up your motherboard specs and choose the latest drivers.

there are no yellow triangles on any of the devices, so i presume they are all ok?

I would try dcx's advice, will at least tell you if it's hardware or software.

Perhaps try the ram in a different slot?

Presume it's adequately cooled?

did you install any antispyware/antivirus software before connecting to the internet?
