my ps3 extended warranty

I bought my 40gb PS3 (fat one) last year in June, i took out a 2 year warranty when i bought it from Gamestation so i have about 6 months left of that.
Now 40gb that it came with has run out fast, i only have 2-3gbs left and thats after deleting any demo's and game installs that i dont use anymore. So im think rather than buying a bigger hard drive for it, i could maybe "accidently" break my ps3 and take it back to Gamestation in exchange for another one.
When i took out the warranty the guy behind the till said before it runs out throw it down the stairs and we will give you a new one, is there any truth behind this?

Also if it does work would they give me a new slim PS3 or would they just give me a refurb old model?

yeah they will, technically its insurance fraud tho
#2
He advised it lool?
Yeah I think they give like £350 to buy a console well they did to my friend after his broke twice.

Have you read what the warranty says?

I would go by that rather than what someone possibly on commission told you.

it says "does not cover accidental damage" but the guy clearly said "just drop it down the stairs".

I think he wanted you to do that so you get punished for actually trying fraud because by them not replacing it.

Your honestly going to take a SALES persons word for it? As with any sales person they say what you want them to believe. Look into all of the small details of your warranty contract. As according to that most of the "damage" you would do is covered under the accidental damage

I purchased an 80gb in june took out a extra 2 year warrenty. Fancied a slim though, as I got a bravia and wanted bravia sync.

I called up gamestation, said do you have any 80gb in stock? he said no, i said oh no cause i caled earlier about exchanging my faulty ps3 (which was not faulty - well i said it was making more noise then usual it could have been but i thnk there just noisey tbh), so they reimbursed my £300 i paid for the whole bundle which came with blu ray 2 games and hdmi cable in the first place... without giving the extras back, only to purchase a new slim and warrenty of them

they dont check to see ts faulty btw..

give me a pm if you want any tips on how to do it.

Ty for that.

So just reading through the warranty booklet from Gamestation, it DOES cover accidental damage, it even says "if your noodle snack were to get knocked over it and cause it to break then its covered" it says whats not covered is "Mood swings, Deliberate damage (dont know how they can prove that), scratches and Unauthorised repairs".

perhaps i'll nip in and say its been acting up and see what they say. Which is kinda true.
