Feel like i've gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Seriously it feels like ive been battered.... Does anyone know what this could be? I haven't done anything strenous to cause this pain. Its both sides and it starts at the side and goes round to the back. Ouch...

No i dont drink. I drink a lot of water througout the week.

I dont think its from sleeping awkward as its both sides and its not a new mattress or anything like that.

 To be honest with you i have 1 hr in between my jobs and no time to go to the doctors. So i just came on here wondering if anyone had experienced the same pain or knew what it could be. I have no idea when im going to fit in a trip to the doctors without having to miss work - Which i dont think my boss is going to be too happy with.

Your health is more important than work.

Stuff work x x

I had a similar problem very recently - not the ribs, though, just the stomach area, & it too felt like I had done 10 rounds in a boxing ring. Turned out to be a milder form of a virus that was doing the rounds. Cleared up on its own after a week.

P.S. Like the others have said, GO TO A DOCTOR! You may be suffering from something serious, you may not, but how will you know?

And if its something serious then its more time off, so i'm sure boss'd be happy to lose you for an hour or so rather than weeks/months. :)

I have had this type of pain, its usually when i've sat for a long time, like in the car or something. Really aches between the ribs, I think its because you stay in an unusual position for a long time. Usually lasts two to three days but like the others said, go see a doctor if it persists......what NHS have advised is only for really severe back pain, I have just slipped a disc and that is exactly what they said. The amount of painkillers and nsaids the doctor who called later prescribed made me vomit.....really good for a bad back..........well on the mend now.

Ok so i called my GP all day.. finally got an appointment as someone had cancelled. My boss was ok about me popping out. Its just my muscles apparently, just painkillers 3 times a day and thats it.... My pain feels a lot more than that!
