my sky tv has gone down - anyone else having problems

not getting no signal - nothing
rung up at 5.30pm and they said thy are resending signal?
could be 2 mins up to 4 hours!!!
still waiting....

yes done all that - took the card out etc...

it was strange that when i rung sky she didnt put me thru to anyone - just said she was resending signal?

Have you tried maser reste unplug it and plug back in :P

Can you still access the sky programme menu? if yes then it is likely to be a localised signal issue, if you can't access OK then it is most likely to be a box fault

What is the weather like where you are, if it is heavy and likely to thunder soon then i would say it is most definately a signal fault.

What he means is press services and on the remote press 4 0 1 (not menu selection) this will put you in the setup menu, i did the full reset and sorted mine out - ignore the menu on the screen until after you press services 401

Fault in the box for sure.Even theres no signal ,menu should work fine.Resending signal will not help at all.

just unplug the bloody thing. Leave it for 20 seconds and plug it back in again. :thumbsup: If it still doesn't work, your box is knackered!

Oh dear - fancy upgrading to Sky+ ? :whistling:

Anyway, hope they can get it sorted out soon. My box freezes & I have to switch if off for a min to reset, but if that still doesn't help then good luck ;-)

could be your dish has become misaligned possibly?

sky can fix this or if the dish is in an accessable place u can do yourself for a quick fix.

thats a problem i had.. comes up with "no satellite signal is being recieved"

for me i could see the plasticy covering on the dish had been scratched where the dish had moved so u could move back, tighten, and save £85 sky call out fee!

That'll be it then! :pI seem to have problems with my sky when it' raining, stormy, snowing, hot, windy, fine, Foggy, warm, JUST NICE or any other kind of weather condition you can think of!

ok havent read much but if you go into services the system setup then signal are you locked there? if not then check the arial going INTO the sky box pull off the plug (f-type) and check that a piece of the earth isnt touching .... ram all the earth away from the copper wire and shove back on the plug

if your getting a signal in the test part then do an upgrade of you software it might be having a problem unplug it and hold down the 'backup' button whilst plugging it in (hold button for 20secs once plugged in) this will force and update.... hope this helps

Last time I rang the sky helpline they were pretty helpful, try again, maybe someone else will answer the phone and you'll get better customer service!

I think this may well be resolved now.
