Don.t see why he can't be an artist .if he is talented .

Can't be an electrician, fly a plane, work in airport flight control, play snooker, and probably won't ever be able to be a doctor. Nothing major. I'm red/green colourblind myself, and the only major issue I've encountered is ******* at school going "Uh, what coliur's this?" and me having to punch them in their faces for annoying me.

Beethoven was almost totally deaf, but what a great composer. I don't think that your son's condition needs to be a problem.

This might be helpful.

Can't join the Army i got medical discharge after 6 months..

1) There is a current snooker player (can't remember who) who is colour blind.

2) Calling someone a ****** on a disability thread... not gonna make you all that popular.

is the guy who higgins beat semi final last week not colour blind or partially as well? can't remember his name but on the radio he said the only problem he has is sometimes distinguishing between red and the brown.
#15
Don't think it would stop him from anything that doesn't involve colours in there job for safety reasons.

I have the same problem distinguishing between pink and brown.
#17
he could be a very successful artist...left to his own work he could make amazing pictures with odd colours, like the pop art type things :) otherwise I dont see why he cant do most things...unless there is an extreme safety problem

Interesting that nobody has picked up on the 'talented artist' bit. I thought that was main part of the question...
#20
what does ur child like drawing?
#21
or the fire service, or an electrician, few career paths in the armed forces but should be all good for becoming an artist

I can only see the 25, are you having us on with this test??
#26
I can see all the numbers!
#27
My husband is colour blind - he can't distinguish between red, blue, purple and brown..... and believe it or not, he works in a Screen Printers and mixes inks!

Try not to focus on what he will and won't be able to do - my husband can play snooker and pool, I just have to point out the brown if it gets in the pack of reds.

Hubby struggles with some video games (where enemies will be indicated by red dots, and goodies with green), but lots have colour blind options.

I'm sure he'll have no problems with following art....

Yea, that's what my husband is like. He can see colour. But when I ask him about colours, he doesn't know how red differs from green / brown / purple, as to him they all look the same.

You should probably go to the opticians just to be sure....

I'm just curious. He's retired now so doesn't matter any more. He finds it hard to distinguish red/green.
