awww I used to love school projects like this.....and I guess still do....I think I turn into some kinda obsessive competetive person and have to make the best....would be researching the 'best' ampitheatre then making a complete copy....with a full script for the kid to read on how 'he made it' :p

to be fair to him he's just done the Math & spellings now he's helping me look for a plan of one online..lol

bless him it just needs to be a big round thing with benches so it'll look like steps going down....

plaster of paris would do it, but you'll need to make it into a circle somehow?

A pudding bowl? x

why not let him make the outside out of lego? that way he has something to do while you (both) find plans for the inside....plus you can paper mache (sp) lego cant you? so it could actually make a good base :)

obviously take it to pieces after and wash the lego lol

I bet he won't be saying 'I'm bored' this half term with all that homework hanging over his head.
I had a look on google and there is this lego colliseum which would look right without the bottom tier, if you only had all the pieces

Good luck with the job hunting lil-tiger.

Just to add, if you click the link at the bottom of the page (http://www.thereverend.com/lego/colosseum.html), there are a number of pictures of the Colosseum from different angles so you should be able to work out what pieces are needed and how it fits together.

Now I want to make one...

Just had a thought ( I'm not at all artistic, I'm afraid  ) - carve a pumpkin & put it in a box on which the exterior of the theatre has been drawn?? :-D

ive just been up the attic and got all his crafty stuff we used last year, boxes, paper plates, little tube thingys no idea where they came from, paint everything you need to make one ( i hope) and he tells me i'll start it with dad tomorrow! kids!

then when him n dad mess up....itll be mum to the rescue :p
#22
haha - artistic people would know about the smell.;-)

They must have plenty of space to spare if they keep the projects for half a term.

Little tubey things etc.it is then!!
Dad=construction; mum =inspiration.:-D

The spare is a good idea.

how about some air drying clay? could have great fun (and mess) with that!, it will easily mould and shape and can be painted when dry.
