Buffon

Thuram - Stam - Ferdinand - Maldini

C. Ronaldo - Zidane - Scholes - Giggs

Ronaldo - Van Nistelrooy
#2
Buffon

Ramos - Cannovaro - Puyol - Maldini

C Ronaldo - Pirlo - Zidane - Giggs

Drogba - Henry

would probably be my best

Where are Kris Boyd and Barry Ferguson?:whistling:
#4
Ramos Cannavaro Puyol Drogba

Cmonnnn the first 3 are terribly over-rated. Ramos is ridiculously mistake prone and cannavaro is slower than erosion

drogba is without a doubt one of the best strikers atm, he is just AMAZING.

Puyol has been class recently and cannavaro is a world cup winner...enough said

ramos, because i couldn't think of any good ones other than neville and carragher

Mate, how you have got Ferdinand in you may have made a mistake IMO - Cannavaro was superb the last decade and I would go as far as saying both Vidic and Terry are better than Ferdinand (makes too many stupid errors)

As for the rest of the team it seems to be as good as any although Nedved would be in with a shout for LM and Scholes may be replaced by Kaka or even ROnaldinho.

Messi is not there but on the last couple of years form he has to be if Ronaldo is.

Two very similar strikers you have would maybe replace RVN with

Carlos needs to be looked at for left back as well as Lucio or Helguerra for CB.

I would also consider Luis Enrique for no other reason than that he was my hero when I was younger!

Would also give Raul or Owen a shout!!!

I'm sticking to Prem League players

S Given

A Cole - J Terry - S Campbell - O Melberg

R Giggs - S Gerrard - G Barry - C Ronaldo

D Bergkamp - T Henry

SUBS: P Di Canio - R Pires - Roy Keane - C Makelele - G Zola - P Schmeichel

Think that lot at their peak would do just about any team

I was trying to be sarcastic. But hey Fergie has been playing well for Birmingham and has a few Man of the Match awards

correct sir, he is playing in the position that suits him as he is too old to be bombing forward as he did in his early Rangers days.

I honestly feel that if he didn't suffer the injuries at Blackburn the he would have joined one of the top 4 as IMO he was head and shoulders above Fletcher etc.

the praise that Bowyer has been getting recently has been due to Fergie and btw I am not or ever have been a Castle Greyskull supporter (Gers!)

Helguerra was one hell of a player or how about Nesta? please explain the reasoning behind Rio?

Yes, and your midfield has some fantastic ball winners / tacklers in there "C. Ronaldo - Zidane - Scholes - Giggs" that has the backbone of slug. You'd be down to 10 if not 9 men by half time. You've just put together a selection of names that look good on stats but go missing when they don't have the ball. I guess you've put Scholes as your "ball winner" being in the position he is and we all know what an awesome tackler he is (not). Both Gerrard and Barry are excellent ball winners who can also see a pass; score goals; take penalties; track back etc. That midfield of yours is gonna get you the sack 10 games into the season when you are sitting in 8th position having been beaten by Burnley at Turf moor

I put rio because he is constantly being overlooked for major awards such as the Ballon D'or when he is clearly one of the best defenders this decade has seen.

Don't have to be a bluenose to recognise class. Dunfermline have produced a good few players of note, if i am not mistaken and many a good manager has spent their formativeyears there.

Despite the green half of glasgow stating Fergie was a dud with Blackburn. i always got the impression he was well received by the Blackburn fans. Maybe I am wrong

Buffon
Thuram - Stam - Ferdinand - Maldini
Nedved - Vieira - Lampard- Del Piero

Seriously? You think I need to explain Gerrard? You follow football ever?
Barry is a personal favourite; great ball winner; passer of the ball and within my chosen squad a player like that is needed and there are/have not been many better than Barry at that in the last decade in the Prem L

Do you honestly think that gerrard is the best centre midefielder that we have seen this decade? Over scholes, lampard and vieira??
#22
rio for any world award is a joke - not even the best in the EPL
#23
definantly need a dm or a playmaker position. Like Gattusso, pirlo, and xabi alonso. Hell viera is also a good shout. Look at United in real life, ever since Keano has retired, they have been struggling, as of late Carrick has taken his place.

As for Ferdinand, definantly not to be considered even though i am a united fan. Vidic, Terry, Nesta have all been better imo.

Way better than Lampard; better ball winner than Scholes but otherwise on a par; better goal scorer than Viera but otherwise on a par; so yes; if I had to choose between them 4 I would take Gerrard anyday

Struggling?? 3 EPL titles and a european cup..Plus, Carvalho and makelele made terry look very good. He looks extremely vulnerable when he is isolated or simply in a 1 on 1 situation. Same with vidic...rio is one of the best in these situations and probably the best CB in the EPL as of last year

Gerrard is not way better than lampard full stop. That is why he plays on the left for england whilst lampard plays centre. He may be a better ball winner than scholes but scholes has a better touch, passing accuracy and variety, and he is better and finding space for himself. Gerrard is just good, nothing special. And vieira was in a league of his own when he was at arsenal, henry owes a lot of his success to him
