Try turning off at the wall, pull the plug out then try again.

best make sure you've got power to that socket first, try plugging something in that you know works;-)
#9
yeah i have my wii, xbox, ps2, dvd player and surround sound all hooked up to the same one

Are your other sockets working? If not check your circuit breakers.
If they are check the fuse in the plug. If that's ok, is your TV running off an extension lead? Check the fuse in the extension lead.

the socket is ok cos ive switched them around. the extension is ok cos my wii is on and plugged into that. circuit breaker is ok as the sockets etc are working so its just my tv.

how do i check the fuse in the plug is working or not?
#12
take the fuse out and swap it with one out of something else that you know works, use the same size fuse though.
#13
ok thanks...ill do that before i go buy a new tv that i cant afford lol...hopefully the fuse...im sure i can find something i wont use....

Is you extension cable surge protected? Can be an expensive mistake if it isn't. All my expensive electricals are all plugged into Belkin Surge protectors. I suffered a mighty loss in fortune as a result of not being surge protected and am not in a rush for it to happen again

Check local paper for a TV engineer who will give you a free estimate to fix it.
