yeah they always send the fellas home its really unfair
can they only use pessary 3 times? has she diliated at al?could they not attempt a drip or break waters rather than c-section.
#4
Hang in there man all will be good, sure you must be beside yourself tho, all the best :)
#5
Good Luck!! I doubt youd get much sleep so I'd probably go back and ask if you can stay! It is, after all, one of the biggest moments in your life!!
#6
Doesn't sound like a bargain, sounds very expensive.

yep 3 times only, i had to have it, i dialted at 2-3cms and they got the knitting needle in there to get things rolling -yikes

OP
they will call you if anything starts, i remeber when i had DD they sent my OH home and called him when things were getting started
#8
It must be really hard for a man, I was lucky that I only had 3 hour labors with both of mine - but the 2nd baby they did break my water, so I can't imagine why they won't do the same for her :-(
#9
get some rest your need it for when things get going
#10
They seriously send you home? I don't know any fathers who have been sent away ... and my sister was in labour for 33 hours after lengthy attempts at inducing her ... her partner was there throughout.

I'm glad my missus had our son in 1 hour 10mins :-)

All the best anyway matey!

as much as i suffered being preggers and as much as i hated being in hospital and hated having a c section i cant wait to do it all again

get the sleep while you can cause you wont be sleeping when the little one gets here x

if they are in delivery suite they dont, if they are still on the ward they do, for obvious reasons

Hope next attempt works maybe it's nature way of saying the baby not ready sometimes if induction don't work maybe, some it work for early on,some it won't etc. Good luck anyway.

Same thing happened to me when I had my 2nd child. The reason they will only give the inducers a certain number of times as can put you into final stage of labour immediately and that can rupture your uterus. They gave me sleeping tablets and left me till the morning as inducing hadn't worked.Ended up with a c/section if the same for your wife they will give you the choice as to whether you want to be present at the c/section unlesss it's emergency.Good luck

I managed to be there at the conception and the birth of my lot, the last one was on my birthday and I got to cut the cord. I'd have refused to be sent home.

Seen plenty women in their 40's in maternity units, all down to how much you like another, maybe you could discuss it with GP.

Hi, I really feel for you, what a worrying time it must be. With our third baby, I was given three lots of prostin gel and still baby didn't want to come out. This really lovely midwife came around and said that she would try one last thing before a c-section was inevitable and she gave me an internal sweep. Which I have to say was quite painful, but it did the trick and I went into labour straight after. I know you are feeling helpless now but it will al be worth it in the end. The very best of luck to you both x

when missus was in having my our daughter i never left her side and no one would have moved me, i dont think alot of the staff liked me but the important ones thought i was funny

at dinner time all the women were in the dinner room and i sat with them all after being told to leave by a nurse and some porter guy i just said yeah right and sat down, lol everyone was offering me there yogurts and parts of their dinner which was really nice and they were all saying they wish their partners had stayed with them.
anytime my missus has been in hospital i stay with her they say you cant stay but tough there is no one big enough or enough people in the world able to stop me its my missus and god couldnt shift me. i couldnt sit at home waiting i sat by her side all night and day but i can see the hospitals point it isnt good for them you being there and not good for other people in the wards but im just strange

oh and good luck mate hope everything goes great for you both and baby

I was induced but it was really slow and they couldn't get me a bed on the labour suite for 4 days!! My hubby had to leave at 9pm every night and it was horrible. When I finally got a bed they started me on the drip at about 8am but my little man didn't arrive until 9.30pm so when you get the call you should still have plenty of time. Good luck!
#32
Hope all goes well dude, keep us posted.
