Is it only me or does anybody else get little holes appearing in clothing for no apparent reason. I thought it was wear my clothes rubbed against kitchen work tops but not when kids clothes have started to get them now. Also thought it was tumble drier balls but also got rid of them and stll they appear. A definite mystery.

I get little black marks on mine that look like stars with various numbers of points, however they are permanent and dont wash out.

Any ideas?

Ours is the same, its been suggested that it could be because they catch on the drum if they spin too fast, or that something is sticking thru the drum that causes it. I know everything is spun at the right speed so have discounted that, and cant see anything in the drum. I think I am going to start using laundry net bags and see if that helps.

your drum is worn out, if its covered under warranty get them out to replace it

its rats living in the back of your machine......

i had this loads of our clothes got ruined it turned out to be a part on the tumble dryer that was knackered we replaced it and it was fine till the next month and it started again so i just bought a new one. that is now 2 year old and i can put clothes on for 120 minutes and they are still damp so takes over 3 hours to dry a wash load.

on an old machine i had, it always left holes in clothes, im certain the seal at the door was a bit off and would come away a little allowing clothes to catch on the edges, therefore being torn. But the main board went before i replaced the seal to check and that was too much to repair for the age of the machine and i got a new one.

I would say its the seal i had black marks( and holes) on my clothes resembling a tar like substance i tried cleaning the seal but there are some parts you just cant get to right inside the edges so i replaced the seal cost about £20 and i haven't had a problem since. Apart from a very noisey spin lol

Cant be the washer as it did it with our old one and this is a new washer under a year old. Maybe will have a look at the tumble drier though however i have noticed it when clothes havent been in drier or maybe i missed it!!!! Thanks

use domestos grotbuster to get rid of the mould in the seal. this will stop the black marks. leave it on for 20 mins, wipe of then just reapply once more for good measure.

i agree with the seal been the cause of the black marks if you unfold the you can sometimes see the black scum gathered in side the seal you can get it clean with a cloth and a good rub or as some one said replace
as for the holes in clothes does the wearer use glasses as the wife had same bother and we traced it to one of the screws that held the lens had been cut but left ragged and when she cleaned her specs with the front of her top it snagged a tiny hole which she only notice when ironing

I get loads of little holes in jumpers and legging etc when my mum puts bras in the wash and the hooks catch on everything!!!
