Heyho, Im after a bit of advice.

Every now and then I get this severe pain in my lower abdomen (mainly on the left side) that lasts for hours. It just comes out of nowhere and is the worst pain Ive ever felt in my life, Its not man pain or anything because Ive broken bones, popped and torn things and its soo much more painful.

The problem is every time it comes back its worse, I had it this morning and I couldnt move it hurt so badly. Ive ruled out appendicitis, but thats it.

Any constructive advice appreciated, I can provide more info if you need it :)

Ive had a hernia on the right side before, You cant get 2 can you?

I went on NHS direct this morning and they said to go to A+E, but I didnt fancy that.

Apparantly theres something called CFAP that has been reported, which is chronic pain with no symptoms or signs that can affect my age group. The only way to ease it is with anti-depressants??

I was also worried about going to A+E in case they dont find anything, in which case I look like an idiot lol

Why have you ruled out appendicitis, Because the pain is on the l/h side?

Do you get diarrhoea, stomach pain and or sickness before during or after?

Age, sex, weight?

you are obviously on a wind up then :whistling: if you were in that much pain you would have gone to A & E and if you aren't you can't self diagnose yourself with some obscure ailment ..so are you talking.CFAP ? or are you really looking for advice

queenlush, Im really not joking. Im trying to find what it is because I want it treated. I didnt go to A+E because after 3-4 hours the pain goes away. It starts mild, but at the end its horrendous; Im not joking the worst pain Ive ever felt.

tinca, Ive ruled out appendicitis because this problem is recurring and appendicits is one shot if Im correct. I dont get any of the problems you mentioned, but towards the end today the pain spread to my groin too. Male, 18, about 7st7 (5ft10)

don't leave it then...go to A& E or phone your doctors and you will get a recorded message saying surgery is shut etc etc but eventually you will get the option to speak to someone from the primary care trust that can make you an appointment at the PCT desk in A& E. that means no waiting, don't feel daft going even if they don't find anything it will put your mind at rest and that is what they are there for. Nobody on here is qualified to diagnose you without examining you.

I suppose your right, I generally prefer to research possibilities before I go. So I know what to expect.

it's your health, it's probably something simple and minor but don't leave it, you need to be checked out by someone that can check you out all over and knows what they are doing.

Deffo not gall bladder stones in that area, gall bladder is just below your right rib.

I have a mate your weight and she's 5ft 2 and a size 6, heaven knows what size you must be :?
#23
You could have something called a hydrocele which is where one of your testicles can be inflamed which can affect it right up into the groin area. check for any swelling. Your appendix is on the right side by the way. or you could have a stranglelated hernia. I have seen grown men cry with that.

Ask the doc if he can test you for coeliacs disease, you are sound under nourished which shouldn't happen eating that much.
it can cause several nutritional imbalances which can lead to behavioural probs like depression etc and a whole host of side effects/physical problems.

Your BMI is 15.07

If your BMI is less than 18.4 you are underweight for your height.

Are you eating enough calories every day?

People who are underweight may be at risk from health problems, including loss of bone density, malnutrition and irregular periods (women).

However, you may be naturally slim and will not need to change your eating habits. The best way to ensure that your weight is healthy for your height is to speak with your GP.
