how much do you think you will get?
#3
dunno im hoping around £180.. im gna 1p list it all (individually) i think and just let it be, im a little scared im gna fluff the listings however, only works out £10 of the boxed ones and those like aidyn chronicles and mystical ninja goemon 2 are worht a fair whack more while i know others will struggle for £5

just wanna buy a DSLR, but im trying to save money from work so need to fund these things in an extra curricular way so to speak

Nice condition dude, seems a shame to sell them. Good luck with the sale.
#7
At least 5 of those could be in the top 10 of all time
#8
aye i always think about the N64, and without being biased here

best rpg?
best shooter?
best racing game?
best platformer?

im pretty sure it has all of those...

ive just gone through the ball ache that is scheduling 23 listings.... fml, all 1p start though so theres the risk!!!

No way on earth any will go for 1p!
#14
still a little scary, will be fun to observe the watchers coming in and stuff, might be a little bit the wrong time to sell with people saving for crimbo and everything but we shall see.. nobody got any collections of their own to share?
#15
Shoulda started off at a higher price. 1p is looow!

Which raving game on the N64 is better than GT2? I'm not looking to start an argument, just curious as I have PS1,PS2 and N64 that still get played a lot.

hmm in my list the answers to those would be

zelda
goldeneye
mario kart
super mario

obviously mario kart is a world away from sumthing liek GT which is effectively a real racing sim, im looking forward to GT5 though!!

Good idea to sell them individually- I just saw a 700 PS1 game collection including most of the rare/desirable £20-£60 games go for £950 on ebay. How much is that, £1.20 a game average or something? Seller could have sold the top 50 titles for that money alone and got £400 for the other 650 in one lot, going on recent sales.

I've been buying N64 games boxed on ebay for a few months now- you should hit £200 or therabouts, it's rare for even Goldeneye or Mario 64 to go for less than three or four quid boxed. Make sure you make a big thing of the condition, good boxes push the price up nicely. Can you pm a link to the auctions when you've listed them? Ta!
#19
sure ill pm ya

to be honest condition is fairly variable throughout them liek i said some of them are basically mint , lylat wars, mario kart, (the zeldas which im not selling) mario golf box, a lot like tennis and party are great bit with isolated areas of individual creasing, obviously there is a small tear on the front of aidyn, also on the top of perfect dark which you cant see, donkey kong and turok are a bit rough compared...

im more hoping people will ask me about them individually to answer though tbh as i cant be arsed over hyping condition to people or scrupiously going through every minor fault to people which would make a lot of them sound terrible when they aint bad at all.... difficult one but its definately about selling them seperately!

900 games is sooo many! would be great to buy those bundles and sell on really

I'm up to 500ish PS1 games, mainly £1 car boot finds and £20 for 50 games ebay type lots. The total 1400 PS1 collection will cost me around £3000 (there are some games i'll never pick up cheaply) but by my reckoning (mainly looking at NES and SNES prices over the last 10 year period) my complete collection-to-be will be worth £8000-9000 in twenty years if collectability follows the same sales curve. With my almost complete DC collection, my healthy Saturn, Megadrive, and Master System collections and a bunch of other stuff (i'm the sort of collector who has games for systems I don't own...) I reckon i'll be able to gift my lad a decent house deposit on his 21st without having to dip into the savings! Plus we get years of classic gaming between us.

I recommend Gamesniped.com if you're interested in games collecting, they post ebay links for the largest and most valuable stuff you'll ever see.
#21
So you're trying to collect every ps1 game ever released? Kudos to you my friend, would love to see a picture. And come round your house......... :)
#22
On the subject of retro, one day I want to do this

Complete set- oh yes. Guided by the blokes at the PS1 PAL database who have catalogued every PS1 game and variant over several years. And at least two of them have complete PS1 collections. I've worked out that at about 1cm width for each game, i'm going to need 14m of shelving oO Without the PAL database i'd not have the HMV holographic World Cup 98 as per in my picture, which although being one of only six or seven known to be in existence, cost me pennies as it was in a bundle of games on ebay that I won for around £20 delivered. Only problem with having such a rare game is that nobody really knows it's rare... so listed on ebay at 1p i'd probably only flamin get 1p for it! One day it'll be worth decent money though.

We're moving in mid dec and i've got a games room allocated in the new house, so i'll post collection pics then- pretty much everythings up in the loft at this house.
#24
Pretty sure I had a copy of that, got rid of it as it wasn't very good.......

Think I got rid of all of my ps1 games, wish I hadn't though. Emulators just aren't the same.
#25
coolstuff!! theres nothing better than collecting really,l just need the money unfortunately and it will effectively work out a sound investment i think, certainly shouldnt loose money! im sure there will be elements of regret in the future but ill live.. might even collect one day if i get a bit richer but car boots and bundles are certainly the best way to collect as you point out playstation
#26
There are a few games in my collection that i've bought and sold over and over again- The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (Megaman game) I must have had six or seven times now, buying when the price goes down to £5, selling when it hits £20. Reliable money when you need it. I'm more in a buying groove now, my job is stable and we can plan ahead for holidays, new car etc so i'm building, building, building. I'm pretty sure that when the day comes to clear out i'll be happy with emulators to play the games I still enjoy. I still play Chuckie Egg on the repton 3 website- easier than tape loading it up on a c64!
#27
I keep meaning to sell a Street Fighter Alpha 3 I got for PS1 about 18 months ago cheap from a library that stopped renting PS1 games.

Its value has gone down I think but hey its probably still worth a bit.
#28
found this looking for your vaio thread, think my collection is bigger (not really a collection just what i bought at the time) with about 50% the same, had never heard of the valuable ones.
games were pretty cheap as was prehotdeals and so they never cottoned onto the fact you could buy cheaper new elsewhere then trade in for more etc
good luck with sale - will maybe blow the dust off mine sometime

best racer - fzerox

silicon valley was really cute too

Thanks for that - Im thinking of donating the N64 to my daughter when she is 4, thinking about it Mario Kart would be a great starter game for her.

Would that be wipeout?

Wipeout is phenomenal, can't ever remember playing much f-zero.

Any good sources of NES, SNES, etc consoles apart from e-bay?
#33
all about car booting i recon, saying that ive never really found any retro stuff of any value at the places but i still think its a good bet, cash converters can have random old consoles and games at bargain prices

Yes indeed, thankyou for the name reminder. Probably got it in the office somewhere.
#35
made 190 pounds on it all before postage, postage takes it up to 240 before fee's.... some of the games made pretty disapointing prices though, aidyn chronicles and silicon valley were two that exceeded my expectations a bit! ahh well there worth what there worth to people, you get anything playstation?
#36
BUM! forgot! been writing my assembly for school tonight, so i've not been on ebay today at all. The wife sat in the front room looking for baby things on ebay watching TV and never bothered to tell me... still, I have bought about ten boxed N64 games in the past week. At least I set your auctions off mate, even if I didnt bloody win any of them!

Just seen this thread and impressed by your collection. I've got all of them you had bar Aidyn Chronicles which i was bidding on about a week ago but lost out. Recently bought Silicon Valley and Paper Mario which i'd wanted forever.

I have around 85 games i think on N64 and around 70 odd on Megadrive which are my two fave consoles.

You think you'll end up collecting them again?
#38
ah no worries, was a bit disapointed in me games like smash bro's mario golf and tennis, ive seen worse condition copies go for more in the past, i blame Xfactor lol! but hey im closer to owning me camera! cheers for your interest even if you wernt there at the end mate get a pic of your collections up some time and lemme know id like to see them

one thing i discovered the other day was a Majora's mask adventure box limited edition set, only 1000 were ever made, would love to own that!

maybe in the future when im earning a decent wage and have the excess pennys, i would be very very fussy about condition if i ever take it up again however

i have kept my two most prized zelda N64 games and have the prima strategy guides for them :DDDDD
