i love my n96, its got everything you could ever want in a phone and more. best phone easy on the market, but, what about the battery life? Every since upgrading to the latest firmware......i barely get 12 hours out of it. Its a pretty new phone too. Anyone experiance the same?

My other half and I both have the Nokia N96 mine seems to never go dead and his is constantly on the charger and I use mine more seems to baffle us as they are both the same phones bought on the same day he gets really annoyed that the phone spends more time being charged and always seems to go dead when someone rings think Nokia need to sort this out other than the battery cant fault this phone so if your a heavy user take a tip buy a spare battery and keep charged cause you'll need it.

thanks for the info. I too love the phone but am not a heavy user. However i can't risk the phone turning off cuz i need it in an emergency, without going into details. I can't actually switch batteries myself due to a disability so i guess i gotta switch phones even though i love it.

whats the point in having gps and wifi if you can never use it? the gps would last about a half hour.

yep yep yep thats exactly how long my one lasts
most the times when I'm using it its got the charger connected to it.
Its life :)

Buy a second battery and leave it charged up in the car. It works for me.

Truth never thought of it like that there is nothing as bad when you need your phone incase of an emergency would recommended you go for a phone that lasts for a good lenght of time I had a samsung before this and thinking of going back think this is more of a mans phone or a female with big hands a bit to bulky for me and my samsung had great battery life and never let me down I hope you get a phone that has all its extras and good battery life take care :)

thanks a lot. Shame cuz i love my gadgets which is why i picked the n96 after much deliberation. had an n95 before it and the build quality of it was shocking but at least the battery lasted. cheers

How about putting it in offline mode and turn on every hour to check for texts voice mail. Or if you don't use 3g turn off dual network mode.

I bought a cheap spare battery via eBay (from Hong Kong) for my N95 as a back up due to the original lasting very little time between recharges. The cheap battery is amazing, it will last for 3+ days easily, so guess which battery is now my spare?

was looking at the cheapo batteries, might get one and check it out. Although its really put me off the phone. might sell and get a cheap phone and a netbook!
