I'm having problems with my 1-2 week old N97 i am unable to navigate the menus, it has basically become useless, i have tried the obvious, taking the battery out, charging it.

Can anyone recommend what i could try next?

Thanks for any help :)

Send it back?

That was going to be my last choice, especially seeing as i have fitted an invisible shield on it, so i'd lose that :(

Well an invisible shield £2 on ebay, a faulty £500 phone uhmmm tough choice.

Let's see have you manage to install the latest firmware? If you have the issue with the latest firmware then I would send it back, if you still have the original then try to install the latest one via NOKIA UPDATES in your PC (part of NOKIA SUITE)

This phone is brilliant a lot of bugs though but the phone is still amazing, I was so close to return it so many times but after a while I sort the problems out, is simply like a woman if you know how to treat them then all works out fine :p

I see, it's just that so many people accept phones going wrong, and live with it until their contract runs out

True we should not be so flexible but there you go is either that or carry a laptop all the time.

The Nokia N97 is my first smarphone and is simply brilliant (not perfect though) but after I have it and noticed that Iphone, HTC, BB users they all have different problems we must remember these phones are like mini computers so they are bound to have issues, like computers.

If you don't like it then don't get a smartphone just get a simple one with not many features.

Tried updating it, via nokia software updater, although couldn't get it to work as it would not recognize my phone on the pc, as when i plug in the usb to the phone, i don't get the menu which shows 'data transfer/pc suite' etc.
:( Does anyone know anyway i can reset it without using menus, like with ipod, where you hold two buttons down for a length of time.
Thanks
