Sounds like a viral infection its gone round my family for the past few weeks, we just took pain killers for the headache, plenty of fluids & rest it does take a couple or so weeks to get over it but if your concerned make an appt to see your GP

My son (13) went to the doctors with this really nasty cough sore throat and headaches. He was given an inhaler and told to take pain killers. He has previously had hooping cough. They said it was a viral infection that just has to run its course. Get well soon all.

I've had no appetite since xmas eve.

Not exactly a sore stomach, just a really horrible feeling. The sort of feeling you would get if you went on a rollercoaster for several hours in a row.

my kids have had it 5 weeks girlfriend 4 weeks and me 2 weeks so far..
#14
Probably terminal, better get your affairs in order. oO

Wow, excellent response unfortunately. Rollercoaster sickness is pretty accurate. A couple of WEEKS!! Not good.
I have an added problem called COPD so I always carry antibiotics around and I started a course of these to prevent a chest infection but that hasn;t helped (So its a virus) but might go and bother the man on 1st Monday of 2015. At least I get priority. Every cloud, eh :)

I tend to drink through these illnesses then I can just blame it on barrel fever and have hair of the dog.

Mix it up with the odd fag, even if you don't smoke... makes a nasty cough worthwhile (_;)

Heard the cashier in the supermarket tell someone she had been very ill the last few days. I disinfected all of my groceries when I got home. Glad I was only picking up a few bits :p

Sounds rather unpleasant. Hope you guys shift it soon.

I used to but I have been trying to work on my germ phobia. Your comment hasn't helped! :p
I do assume that every item at the front of the shelf has been knocked onto the floor at some point. So I always take one from the middle. I'm weird.

Same but different reasons, I assume the ones at the front have been spread about the shop and left kicking about for ages before staff put em back in the right place, also the stuff at the middle has a later date, at the front near date, middle later date, back normally out of date.

Antibiotics should not have been prescribed under normal circumstances as this is a virus and AntiB's dont kill virus.

That horrible 'sleep need' lasts 2 days but still she will get tired and feel lifeless with no appetite for weeks (1-2 min) Headaches lasted 3 days with me but the tickle in the throat, the swimming head and the rollercoaster tummy, just wont go away.

Looks like we will just have to 'Ride out the storm' as they say.

Fingers crossed you dont go down with it and Happy Ferking New Year Lol.

I had it since the start of December. first felt like a cold for about ten days, then abated a little but I still had a sore throat with lots of coughing. That then cleared a little but Xmas Eve my stomach started aching like I'd been poisoned, this lasted until Boxing Day when 'all hell broke loose' in the toilet department, after which (nine times in twelve hours!) the stomach felt much better and I could retain food. Since then I've just been a bit phlegmy.

Others in the house have had similar.

Happy Christmas!

Hmmm months ago I was layed up for over a week can't recall how long, dizzy if I stood, felt sea sick, it started off with horrendous diarrhoea which lasted about 4 days, my mum had to get my son to and from school, couldn't bring myself to go GP, no way could I walk there. Did home testing, blood sugar levels normal but low blood pressure.

Wonder if that was the same thing, felt kind of like having flu without the snot and sneezing etc just seemed all in head and digestive tract. No one else got it.

Both yours and the previous comment sound more like Nora-virus (Called the winter bug) Very common.
This virus doesn't cause the trots but DOES cause intense sleepiness at first.

Just an update to those of you affected or If anyone's interested,
Mine has finally broken somewhat today.
Didn't cough so bad last might or this morning. Not such nasty dizzy spells so far but still a bit breathless.
Certainly on the mend now, thank Christ. By Monday I should be fairly normal and can carry on eating mud pies!
