Nature/animal programmes for young children

I am looking for some DVD's for my kiddies about animals and nature, my daughter is 5 and my son is nearly 3.

On CBeebies there is a programme called "it's our planet" I think, but it's only on for like 10 minutes - I am looking for something like that.

I am considering buying David Attenborough's "planet Earth" and "Blue Planet" but I thought that my two might find them 'boring' as they are aimed more at adults.

I don't know where to start as I just do not know the names of any of children's nature programmes.

Even just some names to look for would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Really Wild Animals DVDs I posted about are taken from that show (or so I am told!) :)

Wow! That would be ideal! - I completely forgot about that series, I found them boring when I was young but my 2 love animals.
Did a quick search around on eBay, Amazon and HMV but all I can find is some PC software and a book so I don't know if it has been released onto DVD.

I just emailed CBBC and asked them if it has been relesed onto DVD, so I am hoping they will get back to me.

No problem :) Glad I could help.

The 'Day Full Of Animals And Song' DVD looks good to me :) animals (real, not cartoons) encorporated with songs the kids can sing along to

Baby Einstein do some DVDs although your kids might be verging on too old. We have world of animals which is good and my 3 year old watches it ... I love our planet ....

One of my friends kids is animal crazy and loves the vets programme where they are jumping out helicopters and stuff. Try them with springwatch and if they find it boring chances are david attenborough will also be boring. Have tried to create enthusiasm for the blue planet with my three year old and it is like 2 minutes later she has had enough.

I noticed the baby einstein range, but thought that they were for younger kids :)

They are kinda music and animals ... my three year old likes them but I think she may begin to get fed up with them ... hence why I said kids may be verging on too old :-). 5 year old I think definitely would be.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I think the Baby Einstein DVDs are a bit young and I want something that will last them a while.

I am watching this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Really-Wild-Animals-Collection-DVD-NEW_W0QQitemZ110141875545QQihZ001QQcategoryZ617QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem but it is region 1.
I have a PS2 I could use but not sure it will work or in my laptop or DVD player, will have to try and find out.
