Weird thing, I had £800 in my account this morning at 11am and just checked again and i now have £1200 which is weird since I'm not expecting any money to go in. The balance is still showing right as -£600 (I have a £1400 overdraft) but the available balance is showing £1200, which usually is more up to date? I always thought it was the available balance but now I'm confused.

I just transfered the avilable balance to my other account which leaves £1 available but the balance is like -£1800 which is £400 more than my overdraft so i put it back, not I'm really confused.

It could be that they've upped your overdraft without telling you, or if your £1400 overdraft is interest free, they've added a further overdraft that will be charged but count it as your total.

It's a student account though, I didn't think they could do that.

My student account was automatically upped each year by about £500 (normally August - September time though). However, I was with HSBC so it may be different with Natwest!
