Has anyone got the Navman N90i or has the lower spec ones but has the TMC plug in bit?
Iv got the N90i and tried it in the car but nothing was coming up on the TMC bit, not even a green light to say i was getting reception, do i have to have the radio on accepting RDS or something like that?
Its the thing that allows you to see if there is road works or accidents or the weather on the roads etc
Im wondering if mine is working or might not get it

Hi Saxo, I have an N40i with the traffic module. It works off the RDS signals from Classic FM. The coverage is good but not 100%. I travel from the midlands to the northwest regularly and gain and lose the RDS signals at the same points on my Journey. It could well be that you are not in a good RDS reception area. Is the TMS caption bottom left red or grey?

No mate, You obviously have the module aerial plugged in and have the aerial head free to receive ie not covered by coiled up lead. Its not unusual to show a grey button as this could be due to your location!. I just throw my aerial on the dash.

No singing please!!. If you are in Tom Jones country you are very unlikely to receive a good signal! Will see if I can find a map for you.

This map is a bit more detailed but again east of Scotland is a bit bare. Do you actually have traffic jams up there? :whistling:

Not quite as straight forward as that but basically yes!. You can change the frequency the traffic module tunes to but I wouldnt know what other stations transmit this data and on what frequency. The Classic FM frequency has been chosen coz it has a greater national coverage than other stations on the FM network. You should get a green light when you head south though!

Yep, I get the same with my Garmin Street Pilot 510. Traffic Monitoring reception and updates arfe pretty patchy.

It can be a complete pain in the bottom.
