Hi.

What is the easiest way to restore a Samsung NC10?

I seem to have acquired a nasty virus.

Thank you.

Plenty of info here http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/338447-resetting-my-nc10.html

There should be a recovery partition.

I'm assuming its XP on the NC10?

Click start
All programs
Acessories
System tools
System restore

then pick a date when the netbook was ok. Hope this helps.

You could also install spybot search and destroy. Its free and it may remove the virus without having to system restore.

Wouldnt recommend this as the virus may be lingering in the system restore files and just keep bringing itself back. You could always try using system restore then immediately deleting all system restore files.

Some viruses however can only be dealt effectively with by formatting and re-installing the OS.

Do you know where you picked the virus up from at all? Just to make sure you dont do it again?

I can re-install my OS and all software on my samsung N130 in under 45 minutes, or on my pc in 20 as I take regular sytsem images keeping the last 3 known good images (all my other files are on a seperate drive, so C: Drive only contains OS and software)

You could buy a cheap usb dvd/cd burner/reader and just reinstall xp whilst wiping the hard drive.
