NCP Car Park

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone could help with a query i have with parking in a NCP in Central London.

I need to park the car for 3 days, I have been told its £13 for 24 hours. I had a look on the tariff board and it says £20 for a lost ticket.

My question is what is stopping me parking the car for 3 days and when I pick it up just say I lost the ticket and pay £20 to get out of there....

Thanks in Advance

They pretty much have the monopoly in London.....so forced to a degree....and before you say use public transport....that wasnt an option

i would have thought they'd make a note of cars left overnight. they may even report it to the police or something after a few days to check its not been stolen then abandoned etc.

Someone I know used to do this all the time when they lived in the city centre.

Someone I know used to say his girlfriend had parked the car in the morning and now she was stuck in town so he was there to pick the car up as he had to go to work.

Someone I know got away with this almost every weekend when it was an issue and he had his car in there for five days or more sometimes.

I asked a car park attendant and he said you can leave it there for as long as you like....Will check on it regularly just in case.....

Could you not park someone a bit further away and cheaper and get a taxi?

Just try it!
If it dont work miraculously find the ticket in your car all along!

Someone I know used to sound really annoyed when you first press the buzzer to get their attention.

This way, it put's them on the back foot and when they say you'll have to pay for a lost ticket, someone I know used to get even more annoyed. They want to get rid of you so they won't ask any questions.

Someone I know saved a lot of money doing it this way - and with the prices they charge, someone I know never felt guilty about it!

My local multistory NCP only has numberplate recognition camera on exit.

I have to admit I have done this (not in London) - originally out of curiousity as i thought there was bound to be a catch and I'd get caught out. I didn't so instead of paying £20 because it was £10 per 24 hours. I just paid £10 cause I 'lost the ticket'. I don't think the NCP assistants actually care. I'm sure they probably get paid per hour on not based on cars using the car park (otherwise they would have devised a method to stop people abusing the system)
