Yardley should be closest. There is a Holiday Inn close by as well. http://www.holidayinn.co.uk/h/d/hi/925/en/hotel/bhxap?rpb=hotel&crUrl=/h/d/hi/925/en/mapsearchresults

There is a hotel (or two) as you leave the airport, but there is actually an Etap on airport with rates of less than £50 per night. Add in parking.

Or, leave airport and turn left, go to next island and come back on yourself heading towards b'ham, and if you go a few miles upthe road there are loads of B&bs with parking.

Hilton Park is about 40 miles away!

Further to previous post

ETAP about £35 +£3 breakfast. Excellent reviews (new hotel)

Park at adjacent station for £6 for 24 hours then get monorail over to airport and hotel

You are best off in the etap if it is available, as said brand new and attached to the ibis (it was one whole new build). Novotel next door.

Extremely cheap and about a 1 minute walk to the terminal.

There is a premier inn near the airport, or the arden hotel on the A45 if it has space. The tristar is another, on the perimeter fence.

Travel lodge in Yardley is about 10 min form airport-basic but supposedly clean-never stayed there but live about 5 mins from there. Hope you get a good nights kip!

Many thanks folks - rep added.
The Novotel wanted £160 per night!!! Must have heard the airport is closed down.
Booked the Travelodge Maypole Lane B'ham - says it's 7 mls away.
Dunno if there will be flights tomorrow. Might have to book a car hire to Aberdeen.
Is there an airport bus to Maypole Lane area?
That would be too much to hope

You will have to go into birmingham and out again to get to the airport. This will help http://www.travelinemidlands.co.uk/JourneyPlanner.jsp?vm_Reset_str=true

Thanks Rosie. Because of the weather the airports are very iffy. Even if Brummie is open the Scottish airports may well be closed. Flight is late tomorrow again so if we wait till then and either airport is closed again we are in the same fix. Car hire might be the best bet in the morning but will depend on roads/forecasts etc. Life's never simple. At least there's a supermarket opposite the hotel so wine is in.

No snow in aberdeen when i spoke to my friend at 7pm tonight

I live right by Maypole, the hotel is a new build which opened sometime last year. There are two supermarkets next to it, on one side, is a freshly built Aldi, which is good for cheap sandwiches and the like, and on the other side is Sainsburys. Shops at the base of the hotel include Wilkinsons, Halfords and Subway
