Some of the reviews are coming through for this now on metacritic, only a few but it's at 92% at the moment. Looks as if it's the natural successor to one of my favorite racers, Burnout Paradise.

Are there any good pre order prices for this at the moment?

Looks great but I get the impression there's a lot less to do than in Burnout Paradise.
Doubt i'll get much enjoyment out of it with my steering wheel either as it looks heavily drift based.

I wish they'd do a proper successor to Burnout 3...........the best part was the crash junctions and they took it away. :(

Yeah that was sweet.
My favourite was the Road Rage events on Takedown. Just shove everyone into everything.

Those events are implemented in "Burnout Paradise" too.

I was disappointed with the demo version of "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit" because the same level of detail in the vehicle crashes was not carried over from Criterion Games' previous racing title.

Depending on the severity of the impact, there would just be shards of triangular & irregular polygons scattered across the screen rather than the attention to detail that exists in "Burnout Paradise".

However, I can appreciate that they would want to keep this back for the next "Burnout" franchise title rather than combining into the "Need for Speed" series & effectively losing sales of their own product.

Although I still enjoy playing "Burnout Paradise" & I was looking forward to "...Hot Pursuit", I probably will not buy it immediately on release (or with a pre-order) as I would have done if it had been more inspiring.

This game is seriously amazing. I'm not even a racer fan really. Right up there with Burnout paradise. The autolog feature is genius, takes it back to old school gaming, trying again and again to shave off a second to beat someone on your friends list.

Anyone playing it and want another persons times to compete against, post your xbox gamertag and I will add you.
