#6
what other pieces of insignia or patches does a gunnery sarge have?????????
#7
it's a corporal first class.

depends on whether you class the black stripes as the rank or the white inbetween
#8
on reflection - i believe it is an army sgt 1st class !
different insignia to the marine corps

ithink it's the green as the black looks like the outline but any help is great

on those kinda fatigues they go with the black outline as the rank stripe.. same as we had in the british army on the rank slides...

99.9% Sgt 1st Class

#13
it's american - we don't have the stripes underneath - just 1 for private, 2 corporal, 3 Sergeant, 3 plus crown Staff Sergeant
#14
are you wanting an English first lieutenant or and american one?

english is 2 "pips" whereas american is 1 bar. standby for pics

Privates or (equivalent Guardsman, Gunner, Craftsman, Kingsman etc) don't carry any sort of stripe.

Lance Corporal (or eviquvalent) is 1 chevron \/

crap - i meant lance corporal... should know - i surpassed that rank lmao :) btw - you forgot signaller.. lol

I done comms ended up working for BT, hated that kipling thing.
All corps/regitments play a vital role, without the engineers you get no bridges, without the loggies you get no blankets or food, without the signals you would get no comms without the Infantry you win't win wars. I would mention the REME fixing stuff but they don't.

All examples. RE do alot more than bridges
#21
kipling was ace...

still working in comms now - Look up VT group - we are in forest moor -

you may have used the c/s Architect possibly to do a phone patch??

we mainly talk to the RAF pilots but still occasionally talk to squaddies !

Agree :)

without an army... where would we be !
#23
Ok so I think I wanna go with the original image,so what do we really think is the actual picture trying to show???

I think we would be run by a Nazi regime or maybe even Japanese.
#25
the rank on the guys arm is a Sergeant First Class of the US Army ...
#26
i ain't a nazi or a commie - but i reckon they couldn't do a worse job than what we've had over the last 20 years !! why not give someone else a go.. lmao !
#27
It's USMC, not sure what rank would guess Staff Sergeant
Edit I think it's corporal

Lol class,I'm a big war time fan. Love all the war films, series and documentaries. What would be over the right breast pocket, because in the pic there is like something written above the pocket in a half moon shape??? Would it just be Sarge first class???
#30
To me it looks like gunnery sarge I wish we could get an actual agreement on what it is cos I don't wanna do sommit that it ain't

left breast pocket would be the name - right breast pocket would be corps - army / navy / marine etc..

Sgt 1st Class

No idea, my daughter was messing, realised and deleted.
It's a USMC rank as signified by the crossed rifles, looks like 2 chevrons but the Cpl rank doesn't have the under chevron thing.

thats what i thought to begin with. although the black on green is supposed to show the black line as rank - the red/yellow stripes are for dress uniforms - so quite possibly gunny Marine
#37
So basically this is army and not marine like my pic suggested

Just noticed, starfleet? The American have space marines now? LOL just messing
#39
i would go with a Marine Gunny Sgt - final answer... lol sorry

couldn't find any mention of an Army rank with crossed rifles in middle -

rifles normally denote sniper / marksman and are worn under the rank or on the cuff of sleeve ( in brit army )
